Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*

At one time, making a few hundred million in profit was considered utterly fantastic.

How disillusioned we've become by comparing everything to a billion or two billion dollar movies.
Reality has finally come back to the box office in most cases for most studios. But still hasn’t reset the expectation by many that unless it’s Billion+ box office for the Mouse it’s a failure. It’s a shame really.

Happy to see Thunderbolts* doing well!
Evil Mickey and the Snow White person had similar posting styles, so I was suspicious that it was the same person.
You are correct. They stayed mostly and peacefully in the Imagineer forum until recently (caused a bit of trouble once or twice), and they do in fact have a few alt accounts still in the forums.

Look for account avatars that, on a Disney fan site, decide to use distorted and disturbing Disney images.

That was a big clue all along regarding their Troll Status.

Well I was going to change my avatar to this but now I’m having second thoughts…

He/she should be allowed to post again if they admit they were completely wrong about this film
The problem that I had with the poster in question is the fact that he labeled many of us as Disney apologists. I am not always the most vocal, but I have been critical of decisions Disney has made in multiple facets of their business. I don’t get the point of saying a movie is bad months before its release, especially when reports from early screenings say that a movie is good, as what happened with Thunderbolts*. Yes, there have been recent movies (Captain America: Brave New World and Snow White) that had baggage but it didn’t seem to be the case with Thunderbolts.

What about those of us with a letter for an avatar? Or is that just a sign that I am too lazy to pick a photo for my avatar?

I thought it was okay. Definitely better than the last Captain America and the Marvels. A little better than Quantumania (which is really a Fantastic Four/Flash Gordon film starring the wrong family). Probably on-par with Shang-Chi. Unfortunately, if past is prologue, it's not going to make enough money to get a true sequel.

Just haven't had a chance to go see it yet, but glad it's doing well. Not sure if this weekend will give me the time either, but maybe the weekend after. Still want to see it in theaters cause I'm still excited for it.

Yup, Thunderbolts* only made 7% more in its opening weekend than Guardians of the Galaxy, and no one ever heard of that film again… and that’s not even considering how much better movie theatres are doing now when compared to 2014.

I can almost see the sarcasm dripping from every word you wrote.

It is funny how people think that the movie industry is exactly the same as it was before a little pandemic changed it completely.

I’m happy the film is doing well but how did it open better than GotG?

Thunderbolts: 76m
GotG: 94m

That’s before adjusting for inflation.

What am I missing ?
