Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*

In this case though I really don't think any of the events of Cap4 (at least not in a major sense) is going to be required for Thunderbolts. Even if I would say watch it anyways just because its a good watch in my opinion, but I don't think you're going to miss out if you decide to go see Thunderbolts in theaters without seeing Cap4 first.
Yeah, in this particular case, I wouldn't expect it to be much of an issue. That said, they made their bed with fans by a) driving how important it is to see everything to follow what's going on and b) by choosing not to release the previous film(s) to streaming timely. It's the principle of it and I don't need to support the behavior with my consumer $$.

That said, this is the first film in a long time that could tempt me out to see it in theaters because it just calls me as super fun. But odds are I'll stream everything until we get to the big Avengers movies. Those are ones I won't want spoilered and will much more strongly feel the need to see in theater opening weekend.

What do you consider timely when it comes to putting their movies to streaming? And I assume you mean for free like on D+ rather than just digital.

So, thinking more about it, I actually don't think it's smart to release to D+ this quick. I may go a bit off track here, but I've been on the price thing for a long time about movies. I think that is compounded by people feeling they can get it for "free" a couple months later, so why go to the movies? I actually think that is a trend the studios should buck pretty soon. Get it to paid streaming/DVD in 100 days or so, but give it another 3-4 months til the streaming services. We talk FOMO with LLPP all the time, but they seem to miss the boat with movies now.

I don’t know why people are thinking Brave New World will not be on Disney plus before Thunderbolts is released….It seems there is plenty of distance between the 2…even for a Company that is perhaps the most patient in the industry with theatrical windows…. Has there been a Disney Marvel film that was released to theaters before the previous one was on D+…I am asking…, I don’t the answer…. It feels like there is always plenty of space between movies

I am of the opinion all Studios should lengthen their theatrical windows…. It seems to pay off…. One just needs to look at Neon’s Anora… I have been told there really is not an Oscar bump anymore multiple times….well that film received a +573% bump last weekend after it’s best picture win…. This is what happens when the contenders are not made available on a streaming service immediately following the Academy Awards…To bring it back to Disney…. The company has some of the leggiest films in theaters these days… I believe due to it’s patience

There is still no reason to think Disney will not move it the week before Thunderbolts…. It will be done making much of anything at the box office as people will be gearing I for the next Marvel product…. And there is nothing prohibiting Disney from a shorter then normal theatrical windows for them

What did people do before Disney plus when they were releasing 3-4 movies a year

Right before Dis+, I believe it was Black Panther or maybe Captain Marvel that did not release on disc or available to rent prior to Infinity War coming out. I’m not 100% certain though

I’m not sure about rentals but Black Panther became available for puchase on May 15, 2018 and Captain Marvel became available on September 12th, 2019. Obviously, the rental date could have been earlier.

Given where Cap4 is now I don't think its unreasonable to think that Disney will move it to at least Digital by the end of April, if not on D+. I suspect around April 29th for digital, and/or 30th for D+. Which would actually make it one of the shortest moves in recent times to digital/D+ at like 70 days, if it happens.

So if someone wants to see it who hasn't been to the theaters before seeing Thunderbolts they should have the opportunity.

Well with them averaging 90-120 days from theatrical to it going on D+, I’d say that is right within that mark. So not sure why you say that’s not timely.
Timely is out in time - every time - to watch it before the next one is in theaters. That was the issue for me for Guardians 3 as I recall as that was the last one I considered - and passed on - seeing in theaters because the previous movie didn't stream until two weeks later. It reinforced my choice to stay home and wait.

No offense but that just seems a little petty if you ask me. Especially since you could have still seen Quantumania in a few different ways both at home and at theaters before Guardians 3 was released.
