Marvel ride ideas for WDW

I have the hardest time picturing a X-men ride for some reason. I could totally see an Iron Man ride though!

Really? My X-Men ride idea was sort of like a tour of the mansion being conducted by some of the X-Men, with the tour being interrupted by the X-Men villains (MAgneto, Toad, MYstique, Juggernaut...)

But yes, Iron Man ride= Awesome.

There is only one park were superhero themes, even The Incredibles, would be at least partially appropriate for a disney park. DHS. I cannot imagine any superhero rides in MK, EPCOT or DAK. And in DHS it should be some of the more popular superheroes who are even known to other visitors than only comic-book geeks.

I could see something like Iron Man in Future World. He seems like he would fit in with the whole vibe.

To a lesser extent, maybe Thor in Norway?

Obviously I am the minority here and I know its inevitable no matter what I think...but I think bringing Marvel to the parks would totally ruin WDW. The Marvel section in Universal was great because there they can do pretty much what ever they want, there isn't really a 'theme' to Universal or Islands.

I mean lets face it, yes if there are super hero attractions at WDW every little boy is going to beg his parents until they give in, bringing more revenue. But can you imagine waiting for a meet and greet with Mickey, a soft lovable character then turning around and seeing Iron Man, a metal clad vigilante? Or the Punisher who would be wearing what, a ripped up t-shirt with a skull on it and carrying a huge machine gun?

I just don't see Marvel's place in WDW, at least at this time. Maybe if Disney opened another park, not a 5th gate in WDW but a totally separate park (maybe not even in Orlando). They could do it with Marvel rides/characters and some of Disney's more 'thrill' movies...

Dont get me wrong, I love Marvel and I love WDW but I just don't see them coexisting under the same roof, so to speak.

As a comic book geek I take mild insult there. I think that characters who would work well in the parks should be used regardless of popularity. If only popular characters could be used in making Disney attraction, we would have far less rides and experiences.

How does Marvel Superhero's (a very popular movie trend) NOT fit into Hollywood studios? I mean I think they fit as well as the stunt shows. I think that they would fit in beautifully as an expansion off of the New York section. Is it because they are currently a Universal thing and you just don't wanna see a crossing of the streams? Besides, even if they did introduce Marvel into the parks, to say that it would RUIN WDW? That's certainly a hyperbole. How would adding a few rides to DHS at all affect MK, Epcot, or AK? I think you're just being dramatic for argument's sake.

Anyone who says that Marvel doesnt fit in DHS just doesnt want to see anything not family friendly added as an attraction in the park. Everything in WDW does not have to be family friendly, or kiddie. Remember Alien Encounter, IJA, TOT, CTX, M:S, RNRC,Everest. Those rides are thrilling but have theming and detail to drag them out of that mindless category. When Marvel comes to WDW in the future I expect to the seem them given the same chance and not dragged down to childish fodder. You have to understand that we adults need a break from the kids sometimes and adding intense vein popping Marvel attractions would accomplish this.

The only ride I would put in the same vein as the types of attractions that are being talked about is Alien Encounter, and we all know what happened to that.

Indy, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur, Mission Space, Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Everest. They're all thrilling rides, but they're not so intense that everyone under the age of 14 is afraid to even stand in line.

I always thought they could make a Blade using the same technology as Alien Encounter where a gigantic vampire breaks out of the tubes and runs rampant throughout the audience. Except this time with todays, technology it would be like Alien Encounter on steroids with state of the art effects and realistic animatronics that get up close and personal with the audience. It would be so intense that even the toughest adults would be squeamish and on the verge of uncontrollable fear.

Does anyone know what Marvel properties Disney could use, if any?

I really think an Iron Man ride would be the first one to really make sense to put in the parks, I just don't know where to put it. Somewhere in DHS makes the most sense, but I'm not really sure where it would fit to go along with a theme. The other two places could be Tomorrowland or a Stark Industries/Marvel pavillion in Future World, not sure how either could totally work.

WoL would probably be the optimal choice, but I don't really know what kind of educational component they could add too it. This may be really controversial, but I think they could easily add on to or redo The Universe of Energy and rebrand it into the Stark Industries Energy pavillion and include a new Iron Man ride with it. It's probably past time for a Universe of Energy makeover anyway.

You can't take out my Dinosaurs! Well maybe... Also, you could easily connect the two buildings, WoL and UoE, I mean.

I don't think you necessarily have to take them out of a retheme. Just expand the pavillion and possibly revamp the attraction. Jeopardy and Ellen are both still pretty big or even bigger, but Bill Nye isn't exactly as widely known as he once was. If they could get Robert Downey Jr. or someone else to tie into the Marvel/Iron Man connection and build a new show around that, that may help the attraction have a new life.

Don't forget the KUKA Arm for one of the rides.
