In that park's defense (I know, but hear me out), it's the most seemingly temporary park Disney has ever built and can be easily dismantled for re-configuration. DCA is a mess to sort out.

I will give it that. The soundstages on a parking lot really does give it the ability to demo and retry as needed.

Walt Disney Studios Paris takes that trophy. Took it and ran with it

There's no arguing this. I've never been as let down by any park that Disney has produced as I was by DHS. Everything from the layout to the roster of attractions to the disheveled cast members was a mess. It has apparently improved since I was there (ToT was under construction on my last visit), but to me it made DCA look like EPCOT in comparison.

The park starts out good, but as soon as you walk past Carthay Circle, it falls apart, no matter which way you go. My personal worst section is actually everything between Carthay Circle and Cars Land and this is coming from a huge Paradise Pier hater. That whole open area surrounding the Wine Country, Bug Land entrance and all that. It's nice to have such wide open walkways, but WHAT?

DCA is a great park for the most part after the reconfiguration. I'm not sure what people want from this park... GotG does kill Hollywood but beyond that the park is one of the best in the company, imo.

Not to knock DCA, but it's probably somewhere in the middle. Depending on who you ask, there's several castle parks, DisneySea, Epcot and Animal Kingdom ahead of it.

I like DCA, but Hollywoodland was always the ugliest land for me when it opened. There were basically no no attractions and it was all ugly stucco boxes.

I'm one of those rare oddballs who prefers DCA over DL. Either I'm getting old or DL has decided to give up on trying to appeal to anyone besides families with little kids or the hardest of hardcore Disney nerds. Much of what isn't geared to the stroller brigade feels stale and stuck in a rut of nostalgia. I'll always have a strong attachment to the park, of course, but I'm not the sort who finds it appealing to put up with DL crowds to ride The Haunted Mansion all day. So until SW Land opens (and maybe when I'm allowed to order a glass of wine with dinner like an adult) DCA will have the slight edge for me.

Personally I would only rate the two studios parks in Paris and Orlando below DCA. I don't think DCA is a bad park, but I can't put it any higher than 10 out of 12.

I really think TDA and Burbank need to see what they can do to push out the boundaries on the west end of Paradise Pier. That whole road curvature they created for feasibility of the old parking lot backroad really cuts into the land. If they could push back and eliminate several of those lanes and just leave the lanes under the power poles for maintenance access they can easily fit another large show building there. This would help balance the lack of a high capacity and I door ride on the western edge of the pier. It would also add capacity at night when all the open air rides close for WOC

An Avengers "E-ticket" attraction sounds like a solid choice.

But I sort of hope it's not a roller coaster. I don't know, maybe it's just my reaction after years of seeing superhero names randomly slapped on Six Flags coasters... but I feel like a roller coaster is too fast and short to accomplish much as far as story goes. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

There is a big Marvel ride coming to Hong Kong in 2023, of which we know little about. I see Avengers logos. Is it possible that DCA is getting the same thing? Either way, this is cool to look at if you haven't seen it. It's that building/area on the left.

I mostly agree with this, but although there has been some inconsistencies between whether DCA is getting an Avengers or Captain America attraction, it's been consistently described as a roller coaster.

HKDL's Avengers ride will be unique to HKDL, as are all things built there now. HKDL requires exclusivity for a set period of time - that's one of the reasons the amazing Iron Man character only greets there and hasn't been brought to DLR, SDL or DLRP.

Okay, thanks. I thought maybe they were getting around the exclusivity thing by opening the Avengers ride in DCA first. That's probably not allowed, but I don't totally know how it works. I just hear "5 years" tossed around by people aimlessly hoping for Mystic Manor to come to the states. :)

But about the bolded part, if you don't mind... does that mean the Frozen ride isn't a near-clone of Frozen Ever After? Because FEA would not be unique to HKDL.

So will DCAs be a Marvel Gringotts or will it be more Coaster-y?

FEA isn't a direct clone of Epcot's - it's redesigned. Different enough from the WDW to meet HKDL's standards of uniqueness. They're really mostly concerned with uniqueness in comparison to SDL and TDR, but thus far the agreements have been global exclusivity.

I don't have any details on the current iteration of the project. The Cap coaster was going to be an attempt at a Gringotts-ish dark ride/coaster hybrid. I'd imagine the Avengers ride will be similar - how lame would it be if they just put in some indoor coaster like Tron? Tron is fun and fits its IP, but that would be a big let down for something like the Avengers.
