Making films based on attractions.

Oh I hope they don't make any more movies based on rides. HM was just horrible, The Country Bear movie, I never saw but quite honestly just looked bad and my kids didn't even want to see. I saw the first two POTC movies and although the movies were fine. I personally hate the fact they added Jack Sparrow to the ride, especially adding him into numerous scenes. Maybe at the end in the treasure room but popping out of a barrel and looking generally creepy touching a woman's dress was too much for me. I like the old version and hope they will get rid of all the misplaced, distracting Johnny Depps in the ride some day. I think Disney would do better making rides from movies and not movies from rides.

When does he touch a womens dress? He is in the rude three times hiding by the well scene, in the barrel, and in the treasure room. Dress?

I have no idea what "Tomrrowland" movie will be about, but was rumored to feature Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in it.

Yeah yeah, I know, that was lame, but just lame enough Disney would be crazy enough to do something like that. :hammer:

He's in the new "Witch Mountain" flick which has some very futuristic and sci-fi elements in it, perhaps that's where the rumor got started?

Actually, they did. It was entitled "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride"....maybe '95 or '96? I know it had some classic Monty Python stars in it. I forgot about that one. I seem to remember it being pretty awful though. At least the animated one was entertaining!

Yeah, it was based off of the Wind in the Willows, but they renamed it Mr. Toad's Wild Ride for who knows what reason. It really has nothing to do with the ride. I saw it a long time ago, and it was just meh. Had some Monty Python style jokes in it, but it was weird with the actors wearing a few things (like some of them wearing bunny ears) to represent the animals they were supposed to be. Yeah, it was weird.

So so far Disney has made a hugely successful franchice based off of POTC, a horrible HM movie, a horrendous Country Bears movie, a stale made-for-tv ToT movie. I think a Jungle Cruise movie could be great if done well. And I hope one day Disney tries again with a haunted mansion movie and makes a "redo" if you will.

The Tiki Room idea is good too. I could see something along the lines of Night at the Museum.

IMO I'd think it would go along the lines of a Family going on a trip and stumbling on this amazing cursed poloneasian island were the Tiki Birds are Here Everyday..Add two bumbling antagonists where a bird mess joke can be deployed, a plot about a treasure, and add a bunch of new songs by the birds and another upbeat version of the original song... And I have a good tagline for this movie..."Get your SQUWAK on!":ROFLOL::lol:

I am....sort of. I'm not looking for Oscar worthy performances or anything, but something that I can watch with my kids. I really like super campy movies (i.e. Night at the Museum, the Mummy, Indiana Jones, etc.). I don't always need a Scorsese kind of movie, sometimes I just want to watch something fun. Granted the Country Bears movie held absolutely no draw for me .

wasn't that the other way around? .. was the ride already build when that movie came out ? :veryconfu

wasn't tomorrowland part of the future in the "Meet the Robinsons" movie ?

Yes! It has Space and the TTA. I love that movie. Last year I used it when my students were practicing writing reivews. They wrote a movie review of it. A lot of them loved it.

I'd love to see an Expedition Everest movie

An Expedition Everest movie, huh? Intriguing. I can see it now... It would be described as an "intense thrill movie", and the most elaborate part of it would be the opening credits. Then the movie itself would have a lot of slow parts where nothing really happens at all. Then there would be this scene where the explorers would be inside the mountain and they'd suddenly see a cartoon yeti projected up on the wall. Then a little bit later in the movie, the yeti would flash on the screen for about a second and a half, and then the end credits would roll. The End.

Then for the next few years, we'd be reading threads on WDWMagic.com from members describing the movie as "amazing" and saying what a great "story" it has and how they loved all the "special effects". :hammer:
