Thanks you so much for that.

Please can you explain why you advise people to buy water? Because bathrooms does not work?

Sometimes storm damage can affect both the quality of water (not safe to drink) or can damage pumping stations (no water when you turn on the tap). That's why it's recommended to get bottled water. To drink and brush your teeth.

our target and publix in tampa is out of water, waiting to restock

my local walgreens had plenty of water

You can always look at some portable filtration systems. Not the best option. But an option. Just do it before the water may become contaminated, and store the jugs, bottles etc. as backup.

Does anyone have a good estimate of when MCO might be closing? With it shifting further south, any chance of flights on Monday?
They just posted on FB/twitter about an hour ago that they have no timeline yet but are still monitoring the storm. Language in the post has changed from yesterday being yea we are watching the storm see what it does. To today being we are closing not just sure when.

Hurricane prep work being done in MK. Liberty Square Market area construction was behind a gray scrim the other day. Scrims have been removed, I assume in anticipation of high winds.

Brutal, but this was a tactic we used in a war zone, which is very similar to a post natural disaster zone.
You want to get the point across that if you stay in Tequesta (average elevation 7 feet), there's a very real possibility that you are going to die.

Thanks for that I'm staying at club level I will ask the very friendly cast over there

As noted before, sometimes water quality becomes undrinkable, and you want to just make sure that you have drinking water and water for teeth brushing.

Guys just thank you so much for your quick and detailed answer I feel really better to have a community to help me through this and that will help me enjoying the parcs for today really thanks a lot

Also possibly it may be worth calling your airline and explain to them that you are stuck in Florida due to the storm. They may let you change your flight if needed free of charge (but there's no guarantee). I'm sure with people cancelling their trips Disney can find you a safe place to stay!

You believe it will be unsafe to drive from Florida on the 6-7?

One of Irma's many victims here in Central Florida was the Pirate Dinner Adventure on I-Drive. Extended downtime resulted in 206 people losing their jobs. A fire during reconstruction resulted in further setbacks, but they eventually reopened their doors 10 months later.

You should be able to drive, but please keep in mind that there are already gas shortages in the area and I can assume up and down the state. My guess is you'd be fine, but it might be more difficult than normal.

Hello I'm very scared to be honest I'm here alone from France I'm In the yatch club until Monday after I have no plans for now the only thing I have is a plane ticket back on the 9th in Charlotte I was supposed to see the panthers on the 8...

My original plan was buch garden and universal but I have not booked ANYTHING. I have no idea what to do I'm by myself in a foreign country and never experienced something like that in my life. I hope you guys may have some advice on what to do.

Thanks a lot

Breathe. You're there. You will have to hunker. But breathe. Panic won't help.

Be ready to hunker down. You may be able to see Universal, depending on weather. WDW will give you updates etc. Might want to become friendly with desk staff; they can help you out. Might also want to be friendly with other guests - people in the US usually develop a "we're all in this together" mentality during an emergency situation.

this is solid advice. The people around you will help where they can.

It will depend on the storm's actual path and how long it hangs around. If it slows down and does a lot of damage it could be unsafe in parts, and there will be gas shortages. You may be fine, but I would investigate changing your flight if possible just to be prepared for all outcomes.
