Why can't they just admit they messed Up buy new old boats and call it a day. Why do they feel the need to reinvent the wheel and figure out a technically based excuse to aforementioned mistake.

Can't go back to the old ones, they claimed they were bottoming out (fat tourists??) so they got the new lighter ones. They need to design what is needed to float the boat and still keep it dry. My suggestion is to up the water depth 6 inches and adjust the load/unload so they can use stiffer boats

I heard that with this refurb they are wrapping the load area in a massive circular green screen. You get in the boat and a movie plays while some water splashes about. Then you get out and exit the building. Think O'Canada movie, but sitting in a boat and not moving.

Boom, no more boat problems. No more animatronics maint issues.

** In case you have not had your morning coffee yet... This is just a joke.

It's a sad state of affairs when people allow themselves to get so obese that they are actually bottoming out a boat. But no, let's change the whole design to accommodate laziness and poor life choices...

Eventually, I fear that we will end up with a massive underwater conveyor system, so that the boat will actually no longer truly float. Just sit on the conveyor and get pushed around. ** Think underwater omnimover style system.

If the boat were attached to the conveyor the "drop" would not be an issue either. ** Think Spaceship earth assent / descent.

Let's hope is does not get to this point.....

Actually, due to rising carbon dioxide levels, EVERYONE is putting on weight, regardless of life choices. In other words, it's nice to put the blame on people without acknowledging it's a little more complex than that, but it's a little more complex than that.

I wonder what the average full load of boat passengers weighs in 2015 vs 1978?
Now, I'm not a betting man but...

I'd prefer this over the bumper boats we currently deal with.

I agree actually...and I really love the waterfall and find it necessary to the pacing, but the bumper-boat unload completely ruins the end of the ride...Maybe the Disneyland version works better with the lift hill before the unload...keeps things moving...

Is this the new excuse used for those who actually do not make exercise and over heat? :cautious:
I remember it used to be " but MY GENES!!" or " BUT MY METABOLISM"

I hope if they do add anything in it would be something unique and brand new just for the Magic Kingdom. One of the things I'm looking most forward to is getting what's different from Disneyland

Actually, no. The supposed Danish research (as reported on by the Huffingon Post among other scions of science), has been widely refuted.

It's as simple as calories consumed minus calories burned. Not much more complex than that.

Mini Liberty Belle/Swan Boat system. It could work but think of the cost. TDO would never allow it.

If you want boats that won't sink, get Boston Whaler for a sponsor. No one will mind a few 20 foot models sitting out in the plaza, right?
