All Disney has said is that it will be complete "in 2015". The permits have an expiration date of November 2015, so I expect it to be well into 2015 before it is complete.
It's also not totally clear what "complete" actually means. It could mean the project for the entire Hub. Since only the southern half is walled off and being worked on right now, it's conceivable that the lower half would be completed well before the top half.
I also doubt they'd close off the current Wishes viewing area until they could get the new viewing location(s) completed and in-use first.
Lastly, there's a *lot* less infrastructure work required for what's planned for the northern half of the Hub. No extra bridges, no major waterway changes. Just some extra landfill on the Rose Garden area to bring the grade closer to the rest of the Hub and then a lot of walkway and planter construction, plus the two concession sales pavilions.

I think they definitely could have but the disruption to the park would have been un-acceptable.
untouchedWill the parades and streets shows be eventually affected by this project or will the parade route go untouched?
Dude. You're jacked.untouched
Do we know anything about this Construction and what they've worked on before?
I see there signs around here quite a bit and remember laughing at the Sophomoric humor that I found when first seeing a Construction sign at a construction site.I've worked on a number of (non-Disney) projects with (I'm an architect). They're one of the best contractors I've worked with.
The same amount of time as SDMT. 33 months. At least they built Bay Lake Tower in 2.75 years.
It does look nice. Let's see what it looks like when the hub is done.Orlando Theme Park News has a new update, showing off the new railings being installed around the hub.
Much improvement over the old.
Any change that involves removing that hideous reddish-pink concrete I would usually regard as a vast improvement. But the replacement is so vastly different, it makes me wonder how much of the hub will receive this new concrete and how much of an actual improvement it will be.The railings look great. I find it interesting that they're changing the concrete. That's going to change the look of the area drastically.

One side of the new bridge is coming along. There is a pipe under the bridge so it looks like they will be able to circulate some water under it.
So this is really a "bridge" in a sense, correct? Where I have the arrow pointed to is the concrete we're looking at???One side of the new bridge is coming along. There is a pipe under the bridge so it looks like they will be able to circulate some water under it.
