The color at the base of these smaller towers looks new:

The colors you've pointed out are definitely different from the rest of the building, but the color of this whole photograph looks a little off, the contrast is pretty high on it, an it look to me like someone may have altered this picture in Photo Shop or something

Looks like it was given the Instagram treatment.

And does no work happen on the facades after the park closes?! 11pm - 9am seems like a fairly good chunk of time to be doing the bulk of the work. 4+ months on 1, not even all of MS, 1 false front is unimaginable.

Yep, I was being generous with my 6-9 hours 'cause sometimes the MK stays open til 1pm.

A good example of nonchalant Disney has become about construction breaking the magic is Hurricanes.

I was at Disney when one big 'ole Hurricane came through and when the aftermath of another also walloped the property.

With the wide spread damage it was beyond amazing what Disney did to bring the park back to some semblance of good order in 24 hours. By 48 hours there was little one could quickly pick out as weather damaged. So all this lets keep skims up for months on end is kinda nutty considering we know what they can do when they darn well please.

Could be a simple HDR filter.

You mean until 1:00 am?

A lot of the color hues in that previous photo have to do with the time of day. It's much later and the colors are deeper. Here's one from June last year around mid-day. Those colors at the base of the towers were taupe-ish then as well. I had a CPL on so the blues kind of pop in this.

The only time I've seen colors pop like this in real life is right before/after a tornado. It's possible the colors were not enhanced, but I doubt it.

That be nice for the media events coming for Dwarf. Did you hear the rumor from a reliable source?
Heard it from a CM friends, on another message board, and saw it on a Disney planning website thats name has been censored on these forms (its run by a guy named Josh), so these seems like pretty reliable sources, but that said, anything could change or happen, so who knows. You do make a good point about Disney probably wanting them filled and the scrim down for the press event at the end of the month. Definitely want the park at its best for the media!

Hey, did the even blue reappear on the roof tiles above the entrance? The Burgundian roof is gone! (That roof with tiles of a different colour set in a geometric pattern)

What will happen to the Burgundian roof on the second story then? Will it also go? Or will the one on the first floor come back, waiting to be painted over with a pattern of light blue tiles?

It appears the chevrons on the upper roof portion were repainted, albeit in a darker tone, but those diamond patters on the lower roof may be gone for good. Probably helps to not have them with regards to projection shows, or they were just lazy.

Beautiful picture. It would have been even better if you had yelled "Move out of the way!"

I read a few days ago on here that there was a rumor that the moats may possibly be refilled in a matter of weeks. Would it be ignorant to think that it's because that is when the cranes would finally be out of the moat? Or is it more likely that the moat will stay dry until 2015 when the hub is slated to be finished?

If the waterway is to be refilled in the near-future, I'd expect them to build dams near the Adventureland and Tomorrowland bridges to keep the section at the end of Main Street dry while they work on those areas, which constitute the largest changes in the Hub.

They could also go the cheap way and just keep it dry until they finish working lol.

I don't like it. It removes far too many trees, kills the great bridge and the continuous waterway (which granted, without the Swan Boats isn't really needed). My suggestion? Allow less people into the park. ;)

Though I have to say - the new mockup hub would fit in great at EC, if they just angled the sides... And you know, ditched the tombstones.

the 'trees' everyone is talking about have been gone a long time. i only know of one mature tree being removed, and that was in front of the MSUSA bypass entrance. all the other 'trees' are saplings, and immatures replanted over time, and they are going back IN to the hub, but in planters and the like to keep them at a certain size, so they wont have to cut them down every few years... all they have to do is truck the bigger tree off to the farm, and bring in a proper size for the area. and as for the last comment, i would like to see you ----

I get the feeling few people have noticed this. The hub expansion results in the same number or possibly more trees and foilage. Not less.
