Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Keeping the old New York vs. Red Sox alive are we? Shall we talk steroids? I will admit it's a bad season but I have endured many a losing season and still love them...kind of like the status of WDW right now. Hope springs eternal.

I want the RS to do poorly for a season or two. The cost of tickets is outrageous all due to good old supply & demand. Would be nice to see them expand the stadium and drop prices, but like at Disney, expanding the hub to fit more guests doesn't mean the park prices will drop. In fact, I'll wager it will be exactly the opposite as Disney uses the redesigned hub as a selling point.

Only a little bit, more just grabbed the opportunity to try and be a little funny. For what it's worth, Fenway is still my favorite place to watch a baseball game.

Agreed on both:

As you can see that these are different decades, the prices are STILL nothing compared to what they are now.

I hope your theory on RS will work on MK too.

See this is what bothers me. The hub could easily accommodate 2015 crowds. Just make going to the MK a premium event. DCL charges how much to get on a cruise ship for 3 days? Compare that to any other cruise line. And I would argue that the DCL experience destroys anything the parks have to offer right now, why? Crowd/'Idiocracy' control. I'm not seeing too many Brazilian tour groups destroying the ships or... I'll leave it at that you can fill in the rest.

Why is alcohol included for Club Level guests? And why aren't they dispensing it freely at the All Star Resorts? Everyone wants that perfect experience, but no one is willing to pay for it. Unfortunately cheap credit is flooding the world and half the people in the parks can't afford to be there anyways. But have no fear 'Amex' is here with 28% APR.

A great example would be Discovery Cove. Cap MK attendance at 20,000 a day, and charge $500. But that's not fair right?
What did I just read?

You're quote actually shows why the trees really are most likely gone now..."what people like". I'm going to assume that over the years, people complained that the castle views and/or fireworks were "obstructed" by the trees. Enough people complained, so they probably took 'em out. The people complaining about lack of trees here are probably less vocal than the ones that complained to take them out. But, now that the castle is a projection screen, I doubt they'll ever come back.

I'm afraid you're right! However, my family and I will continue to voice our disappointment in the degradation of this part of the Park.

Two of the projection towers are past the hub (more towards the castle) anyway. I don't know if significantly large Hub trees would interfere with the other two (I believe they're on top of some Main Street buildings), but I could live with seeing less of the castle during the shows if we got said trees back.

Pure nonsense, with a dollop of contempt for the unwashed masses.

The post has quite a few likes actually.

I'm still trying to determine what was nonsensical about my post. People hate the new hub, too much concrete we keep hearing, not enough trees they say. Well why is that? Do you think the answer has anything to do with contempt? I spend allot of time at WDW, and the MK. As a local I feel grateful and lucky to experience these wonderful places on a weekly basis. As locals we see things, hear things, and live things most never get to experience. I cherish these parks, I grew up with them. My friends live and work at these parks. There's a reason TWDC hasn't invested much capital in Orlando. And it has everything to do with the unwashed masses.

Want to see the rules guest are obligated to follow when visiting Tokyo Disney?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Sorry, I'm not going to argue with anyone who embraces the notion of an elitist $500/day Magic Kingdom.
'Cause yeah, that's exactly what Walt was aiming for.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Walt was dead before the park opened so many don't really care about his vision. Actually Walt was a man of his upbringing and time. In other words he was a bit of a racist and didn't care a whole lot about the workers since they were just workers. When he talked about Epcot his idea wasn't to have the truck drivers, maids, cooks etc. live in Epcot. Epcot was for the elite to work and live in.
Disneyland/Magic Kingdom - same thing in terms of Walt's vision.

Pricing out all but the One Per Centers was NEVER his intent. On that I'd bet the farm.

That would be Larry Wilson, CFO hired away from Marriott in late 1984 by Eisner to turn Disney into a growth "20/20" company, that being a 20% growth in earnings and 20% rise in stock price.

(Found that as a result of researching the Strategic Planning Group earlier which Wilson is also responsible for)

I know his intent and he had built it with plans to build an improved version. He is long gone though and so is anyone who worked with him personally.
Not sure where we're going with this then - sounds like fundamentally we agree.

I was responding to someone who suggested raising the entry price to MK to $500/day in an attempt to keep out the riff-raff. I was offended by such an elitist view.

Furthermore, discovering that he is a local who visits the park weekly makes his idea even more laughable.
Let's say 40 trips/yr x $500/day - makes @Jlasoon a very broke little Disney fan; because one must also assume that he supports the elimination of all Annual Passes, Resident Passes, CM guest passes, etc.

Either that or the guy is rolling in the dough. What do I know?
