Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Trees? You want trees? I'll show you trees......

I have a feeling this is just the beginning. The west side of the hub will be getting trees to hide the back of the other food stand and either side of the new turrets should be getting trees as well to help ballance and tie the area together. Naturally the center of the hub will still be sparce but that's kinda unavoidable when the park sees as many guests as it does and disney insists upon making the castle a centerpiece for a nightly fireworks and lighting show. Time will tell.

Thinking many of the spieces of trees are those that won't grow tall. Otherwise it would make this project largely useless. Shade is for National and State Forests.

I am having some trouble rectifying how this is going to appear after completion. Does the new outer ring of the hub go through where the trees are in this photo? I don't recall seeing this many trees/foliage in the animation of the new hub that Disney rendered previously.
Yes, the outer ring will go through the former Rose Garden. Will be the same on the opposite side obviously.

OMG!!!! When did those go up? So unexpected!

;)

And has that castle always been there?! Finally a new addition for WDW!
:)

Shhh... Those aren't there yet! You can't see them!! Hence the magical tree scrims... It is ironic that they use "trees" to hide construction... :)

This is funny.... someone that apparently hasn't been wasting his or her time with eyes crazy glued to the computer monitor, sees something that they didn't realize existed, posts it and then become subject to sarcastic responses. What is the average age of most posters anyway. I was laboring under the opinion that we were pretty much all adults. Once again, I am wrong.

Might I suggest waiting until it's done and then seeing what it looks like? Speculation is usually a long way from reality. It's almost done, so the suspense will not last a lot longer.

Anyone who doesn't read every single post on these forums before posting is open to sarcastic responses. ;)

It's really cool how they got those turrets to float a few feet above those trees.

It is the same magic they use to float giant blocks of stone over festival tents in Fantasyland. Gah :banghead:

Someday someone will realize it needs fixing. Been bugging me since 1971. :bored:

It's all in good fun! None of the responses even remotely sounded mean or rude to me.

That would be because you weren't the one receiving them. That makes all the difference in the world. It can be quite embarrassing to think that you have discovered something then be ridiculed for it. It might not have bothered the poster at all, but, it certainly had the potential. Something to think about.
