I don't know what's happening with the old Cinema. Right now, as many people mentioned, animated shorts are being played in Exposition Hall.

Do you know which ones? I've seen "Flowers and Trees" on a constant loop, and I remember an early 90s Mickey Mouse film being played in a theater there years back.

Right, the cinema also is a merchandise location, sells CD's, Pirates merchandise, Stitch Merchandise and Buzz Lightyear stuff.

You forgot Nemo. :zipit:

I have to admit that when I first saw the merchandise, I told a nearby CM, "You're kidding."

But I personally watched engineers working on the street one morning. Something is definitely happening.

"Steamboat Willie," "The Band Concert," and a few others. It's a very short loop. I usually go in there to get a picture with the old Toad car.

Sure, its the milestones in Disney Animation, Truthfully only 3 shorts. Flowers and Trees, Steamboat Willy, and my favorite, The Band Concert

Wait, working on the Street? installing electricity? I don't mean this to sound like I am doubting you, but, isn't that what the utilidor is for? So they can lay electrical and computer wires without having to dig up Main Street, to have it travel directly to the stores and attractions itself?

They are updating the wiring inside the old toy store, and doing so requires that they run it through the stockroom (which is where I saw them doing work).

...

And they're updating the wiring in the toy store because it's going back onstage.

*yawn* I'm tired of replying to the same question repeatedly. I'm going to sleep now. Good night. :D

And after that, let's start a crusade to rename the Main Street Athletic Club, because they haven't ever accepted memberships in awhile. Maybe then we'll go down the road for things not named after their intended purpose. Uptown Jewelers now sells pins, so we'll have to rename that. And City Hall is not the seat of government, especially since Mayor Weaver is out campaigning everyday. The Crystal Arts shop actually produces most of its items out of blown glass, so, that's gotta go.

 :p very funny!

Can someone help me out. Is there an empty storefront on Center Street this new toy store will fill or are they moving/shrinking floor space of an existing store?

Is it not the bit of main St that used to be like two alleyways. The flower cart used to sit up it. Its now yet another pins and Ts emporium

Did the Old Cinema ever have a big stage? I seem to remember a stage and I got to go up and meet Mickey Mouse. Can anyone verify that?

Perhaps you are thinking of Mickey's Starland, which had a character show in the large tent in the early 90's

I've always thought that a dark ride on Main Street would be the perfect addition. The ride vehicles could be turn of the century cars ("Toad-ish") and the story could be a visit to Walt's hometown in Missouri with a Walt Disney history behind it. Kind of a One Man's Dream on wheels. It would attract the kids because it's a ride and it would have a history lesson along with it. There's lots of space between Main St. and TL for the addition of a show building and Center Street would make the perfect entrance and use the Main St. Cinema as the exit and get the movies playing again. Thoughts anyone?

I like it. But highly unlikely.
