Main Street Changes

I guess I simply don't find your perspective in line with enjoying Disney at all. Part of the whole magic of Disney IMHO is the overall tone of hope and possibility. Sure, Imagineers on Main St. does not mean major changes are coming. But Imagineers on Main St. also does not mean major changes are NOT coming. I don't think anyone treated these as definite statements. Everyone has been saying these are RUMORS in this thread. While I undrstand your point that many many rumors turn out to be nothing, I think squashing it is just as disappointing as hoping for it. I live on the chance that it might happen, not the reality that it absolutely, definitely is happening (that's boring for me). I guess it's a matter of perspective, but I think talking about what might happen is very fun. If it doesn't come to pass, so be it. But, if it does, that's great. Let people enjoy thinking it might happen. And, everyone else, don't take it as Gospel truth until we have a confirmation from Disney.

And after that, let's start a crusade to rename the Main Street Athletic Club, because they haven't ever accepted memberships in awhile. Maybe then we'll go down the road for things not named after their intended purpose. Uptown Jewelers now sells pins, so we'll have to rename that. And City Hall is not the seat of government, especially since Mayor Weaver is out campaigning everyday. The Crystal Arts shop actually produces most of its items out of blown glass, so, that's gotta go.

I love Disney, and the show they produce. This whole "perspective" argument is fallacious. My perspective is that WDW, especially the Magic Kingdom is a wonderful place that not only I enjoy, but hundreds of thousands of people a week enjoy. I love going there, and just sitting and watching the people, and magic around. What I can't stand is people who want this, and want that, not seeing the big picture. NOT ENJOYING THE SHOW THAT IS DISNEY. The same people who go to the parks with cameras, not to record the magic around them, but to get evidence to support their hatred of Disney. Taking pictures of professed "Bad Show," blowing them up, and putting them up for the world to see on fly-by-night websites with pretentious purposes; this is not the way to go about enjoying Disney.

Go to Disney, see the magic, sit on Main Street USA, in front of the Emporium, and watch the folks go by, smiles on their faces. See how happy a trip to the Magic Kingdom can make some folks who have never been there before. Don't try to impose YOUR WANTS, and YOUR DESIRES, onto what is already a wonderful place. The whole point of WDW is not to be a place for YOU, but to be a place for everybody. A place, in the words of a great man, where parents and children can have fun... together. You see an Imagineer on Main Street...? Guess what: that doesn't mean a blessed thing. It doesn't signify any coming changes. It means that people are doing their job. And in my opinion doing it well.

I don't write this to be negative, in fact, just the opposite. By stating how you think Main Street could be made better, you are giving your opinion, and I respect that. But you are also not seeing Main Street for what it is already. The magic is already there and you are looking past it.
I'm not being negative, I just want people to appreciate Disney for what it is, not your gilded view of what it used to be, not a fanciful view of what it could be. But a magical experience that brings a smile to the faces of thousands, and brings a tear to my eye everytime.

Enderikari, even though you come off as rude and abrasive, I agree... I love Disney as much as anyone else... I like ot try to imagine that I am working for Disney in WDI.. and I try to come up with rides, shows, attractions that I can add into Disney.. This is purely for my own entertainment... I love what Disney stands for.. I love the show they put on.... Disney is a magical place that takes you away from the real world... And for that, I love Disney...

I also love coming to these forums and reading rumors and news people post... I do have a few friends who are CMs and they even admit not to believe all you hear from CMs... They do tell me what they hear, but 99.9 percent of what they tell me comes from CMs talking amongst themselves..

Will Main Street geta refurb? I am sure one day... And I am sure Space Mountain will get one too.... But, until Disney announces something officially, we can speculate and post the rumors right here online....

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.. And everyone is entitled to posting the news/rumors they hear, without getting slammed over it...

So, keep posting these rumors.... I love to read them and seeing which ones actually do happen....

If I come off as rude or abrasive, I apologize for that, truly I do. Really, I am one of the most even-keeled people you would ever meet. But when it comes to the Magic Kingdom, I get a little... how you say.... defensive. Same as when it comes to people talking about Walt, and trying to put words in his mouth, and actions in his step

This is my take int the whole Main Street refurb/change.Ive been a huge Disney fan since 1971-I was one years old and went there first year it was open.In my experience i have always thought disney to be HEAVEN ON EARTH.I had it in my mind that Disney could do no wrong and u could"eat off the floors".I still to this day think that but my problem is for a long time i spent too much time thinking WDW as such a perfect place that i would spend my trips to Disney looking to try to find things wrong.Instead of being in line at IASM and having a great time and enjoying the magic of Disney i would stand in line looking at a small chip in the paint of the rails.Sounds really dumb but i would not want to go to Wdw due to the fact that i know i would spend my time looking for "bad show".Now i go with the realization that Disney is the worlds best resort destiny and disney does an AWSOME job at keeping the parks super clean and even with that there will be things id like to see changed and will sometimes see a bad show element(dings, chipped paint, etc) but i know Disney will fix it and make it right.

Just a side note,i would get freaked out by web sights that showcased things wrong like a wall needing paint, etc. but most of or all of the issues i saw or see DO GET FIXED.I can honestly say even though some say quality has slipped you cant beat the quality, cleanliness, and magicl experience that is Disney.:)

Enderikari, your passion is evident. We all have our passions.

But, as you said, we all have our opinions, too. What I write, what you write. I will continue to enjoy the parks and make note of what changes I see or hear of, and post my opinions apart from my personal experiences.

We appreciate Disney in different ways, and that's all I have to say about that.

Well, so much for secrecy. To make everyone who keeps calling these "rumors" shut up, I'll just come out and admit that I am a Magic Kingdom CM. And furthermore, the Imagineers are doing more than just walking around. Engineers are laying new telephone and computer lines throughout Center Street. Although I do not work on Main Street, I looked in the warehouse, and I can verify that the back stockroom is full of toys. Area CMs have told me that the old toy store will be back onstage within the next two months. If you don't believe me, ask any of the Photopass photographers; the toy store is currently their home base.

Regarding Space Mountain, I never claimed that it was more than a rumor; but managers are telling Tomorrowland CMs about it, and a general announcement (WDW's will be refurbed soon) was on the official portal for a few hours on the 17th.

I understand that people get on these boards, pretend to have inside knowledge, and try to get fellow members hyped over false rumors; but some of you need to cut the cynicism and realize that you can't decide what is and isn't really happening when you don't even work for Disney.

EDIT: By the way, I never claimed that the B-ticket and Space Mountain refurb were anything more than RUMORS. The only thing I know for sure is that Center Street will have stores again.

Whoa Tirian, better watch your words. I'm happy you are trying your best to
quell the rumors. But, perhaps you may want to consider that you may not be the only one to work for Disney, you may not be the only one who is replying having any knowledge, and it is quite clear from your post, any knowledge you have is, by your own post hearsay. Not necessarily wrong, but information not yours to give.

Mostly Incredibles and Stitch toys. Even a few Pirates things.

Yeah, I knew you wouldn't be too thrilled, Grizz. Sorry.

Hmmm... Sounds to me like the kind of toys that the Main Street Cinema is stocking right now.... You know, around all that VMK Central stuff...
