Yes MagicBands are going to be the only way to validate parking. So they are now going to scan everyone's bands at the toll plaza instead of having something easy to identify and just wave us through? That makes things more difficult, not easier.
I've been a defender of MM+ but I agree with this completely. This should work fine at the resorts but it's going to be a nightmare at the theme park plazas. So they are now going to scan everyone's bands at the toll plaza instead of having something easy to identify and just wave us through? Anyone know if MagicBands can be used as identification to visit the resort? For instance, if I have a breakfast reservation at the Cape May Cafe, can I just use my band to get access to the resort or do I need to show my ID?
I doubt Disney security ever went around checking those parking passes. My guess is that if you were able to get through the turnstile, you were good.I get using the MB for the driver. But what about the car? How is the car to be ID'd without a sheet of paper in the dashboard?
the biggest difficulty with this would possibly be scannability.I agree! I wonder though, is the magic band tech capable to do the same thing that say, the SunPass does? Would it be feasible for each plaza lane to to have such a receive that could scan the car as it approaches for bands with appropriate access so you could just stroll through without stopping?
I want to say Yes, and it is already working this way. On Thursday night, I was able to access the Polynesian Village Resort with my Annual Pass Card (as I did not have my MagicBand on me) for my Ohana reservation. All the attendant did was scan it and let me in. He did not ask for ID.
Great minds!I see we all had the same thought. Ha!
Great minds!
Seriously though, it was hard for me to accept the idea that WDW may have had this kind of foresight. I wonder if this was an "Oh wait, we can..." moment. they had later on in the process.
