Mine is out to be delivered today for a Sept 17 trip. Hopefully I get all the kinks ironed out long before then. I keep checking this thread for guidance.

Magic band+ is a failure but folks will still buy them and we know Bobby is happy with that.

Got our (well, my kids’) MB+s today. Came with instructions with a QR code. No issue pairing and updating both. Won’t use them in the parks until December, though.

My primary interest in the 'new MBs' is the fun light up feature.
I am not really interested in the Gold Statue quest game, but that is good to know.
As long as it lights up periodically for surprise moments during some experiences it will be a plus.
I already have accepted that I will not be able to enjoy the Bounty Hunters game since I do not own a cell/smart phone and do not have a device that can run the Play App.
The primarily appeal is the interactive light up features for me.
Hopefully that can be triggered off on its own 'in the field' without having to tie it into a cell phone app.
The MB+ is listed as active in my MDE account, so it is good to go as far as tap admission goes.
Just curious as to if the light up features will work on their own via signals in the Parks.
We shall see......
I really like the design of the band ( MB+ Orange Bird ) so even if nothing ends up triggering it will still be something I will enjoy using periodically.

Interesting to hear yours came with instructions.
I had mentioned in a past post of mine that I was surprised the band package I ordered did not come with any.
Did you order through MDE for a Resort stay, or did you order direct from Shop Disney?
Just curious if Shop Disney orders came with instructions, while Resort stay shipments did not.

While I did fall in line and now paying for three very expensive cell phones and plan for myself and my family, I lived in the time of no cell phones and - gasp - p a y t e l e p h o n e s
and did not die. Simply amazing.

I’m not who this was directed towards but I ordered mine for a resort stay. It came with zero directions. That being said it charged, synced, and updated without issue. Scanned the QR code on the back and it went seamlessly.

I believe the box I got with the one we purchased on site had a little paper jammed in the back with the charger. I haven't opened up my "resort stay" package yet since it came a week after our resort stay. Will have to double check that.
In any case, the instructions IIRC were (more or less) charge the thing, link and update it. Very generic

I think (and assume) that the light up features during the fireworks would need the app to sync. I could be wrong, but I don't know how the stuff works otherwise.
Of course it could all be related to the type of distance signals that trigger it when you're near a statue and it's not paired with your phone. I just don't assume that's the case.

And it is glorious 'Avacado Green' and has this circular thing called a 'rotary dial' too.
Curly cord is only 15 feet, however.

If you put MDE on the mini it can serve the same purpose as a phone would. It can use the park wifi or a data plan to get the mystical instructions from the mothership and relay them to the band(s). Just to be clear I'm not really sure phones relay signals to the bands...
I was a late adopter of the cell phone but eventually was forced by work to use one. I am jealous you can get away without having one!

oh bother!
My card still hasn't been charged. Ordered first week of August, but trip isn't until April.
Eventually I'll forget and one day it will be just a nice surprise.
