I think part of the problem with the hype is the moniker- Magicband+ Sounds like something pretty special. If it were just the Magicband 3 with periodic fun upgrades, I think there would be far lower expectations.
MagicBand 3 would imply that it was the new "regular" MagicBand, replacing MagicBand 2. MagicBand 2 will continue to exist alongside MagicBand+.

"If you purchase a MagicBand+, we would plan on a full charge taking at least 90 minutes. From there, the MagicBand+ will lose battery at various rates based on usage. The Batuu Bounty Hunters game seems to be the biggest drain on the battery life with MagicBand+ batteries lasting anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours while playing the game. If you plan on playing Batuu Bounty Hunters, make sure that you have a way to recharge your MagicBand+ while at the parks. Disney officially says that MagicBand+ will last anywhere from 1-3 days."

Heres a second source. Anyone care to apologize to the site that shall not be named?

It's kind cool I guess but like charging it every night and dealing with a million USB ports sounds like something that would be difficult to deal with. I guess removable batteries means you can't water proof the watch though.

This just leaves opportunity for someone to make a multiple charging stand though. Maybe that is what Disney wants, but sounds like something Di$ney would come up with.

The fact a family of 4 has to deal with 8 USB cables just sounds completely bonkers. Essentially you'd have to get a USB hub or bring your own AC strip to even charge these more than likely. Heck, you can't even charge powerbanks as well.

This is all I can think about with my family of 5 and the USB A to B to C talk...

All right, everyone got their bands, tablets, phones plugged in?

I so miss the days just about 10 years ago and before when Disney would say in all the ads and promotional material.. put your phone down.. look around you.. get lost in the details of our parks..there so much to see. Now a days all you do is have people stop in front of you..walk into you..heads down on their phones.sigh. Its my “ get off my lawn” moment, let me have it.

You think "+" is "talking a big game, label wise"?
I do. Maybe it’s just me? 🤷🏻‍♀️ To me it implies you’ve created a new category to be considered - akin to saying “platinum membership” or “diamond level” or at least just “new and improved”.

The best I’ll say about these new bands is that I think they have good future potential, if more interactive experiences that are band-specific are created within the parks. But at the moment I feel they should have just been called “rechargeable Magic Bands”, with the limited interactive features listed in the product description.

I got a piece of junk mail today for a credit card called "Citi Diamond Preferred" and the card was a piece of crap.

Batuu Bounty Hunters is the featured experience of the launch, the statue thing is just filler. BBH isn't my thing, but it looks neat and I'd love to see similar experiences in the future.

Yes but how bad was the original card, that’s the question. 😂

Has anyone heard anything about or experienced that the partners statue one is defective? Friend heard it was sold out (no longer in store or shop Disney but still on AP/pre) but then saw somewhere it was actually pulled for being defective....

Haven’t heard that but could be true. I haven’t seen any report of anyone getting the Partners MB+ in person yesterday. They were not at MK yesterday, CMs said that is the one new band they didn’t get in.
