I thought the only option was to ship to your address ? even with the VPN, perhaps I missed something.

We check in this coming Tuesday and if you buy a Magicband (and +) like we did I think that within a certain period of time or if your address is listed as international then they just ship it to the resort

I'm interested in someone doing a tear down to see how many maH these things have for their batteries.

Also regards to android, you'd alienate a lot of people favoring apple. Do you really want to buy a wrist band that dies in 2 hours instead of using a device like a smart watch or phone that is just engineered way better and is way easier to charge?

Disney relying on phones for entertainment and experience to me is the real issue. Magic bands were to me an absolute genius system, a literal all in one. Now your phone can do most of that. In exchange you aren't immersing yourself though.

This, I got a new watch with NFC so I could use GPay only to find out I couldn't put my Pass on my watch like Apple can (but I still like the upgrade of a watch I got, and hope maybe in the future I can use it for WDW)
GPay is being phased out for Google Wallet, which should expand some functionality.

I have my eyes on the Pixel Watch rollout.

One site doesn't really show much tbh with users as you are getting a sliver of what is out there. Then again I'm on a computer right now vs mobile anyway.

Closer to 20% depending on the quarter. In the US it is split almost 50/50 for users. Still no excuse for Disney other than I have a feeling their people just suck at programming and Android is more difficult.

I really just get tired of Disney being behind the times with technology really. So excuse my grumpiness.
Those numbers there don't represent Disney's customer base. Android has massive amounts of users on low cost devices that have no intention of going anywhere near a Disney park. I think this site offers a reasonable comparison of what DIsney is seeing by the very nature that it is visited by those who go to the parks.

They already favor Apple ;)

I'm not sure that was the entire issue to be honest. There were 2 versions of Gpay anyway on my phone. One acted like a wallet.

No it doesn't. Nor does this site. Or the FB group I run. It's 50/50 in the US on the split. I honestly get tired of Apple owners thinking Android users are lesser and should be ignored.

Erm, you're a bit judgmental sounding here. My 14yo has a FE version of Samsung and he goes in the park and uses it. Cost of phone means little really. Seriously in the US the division is 50/50. I also do not think this site nor the FB group I run is indicative of users. Though on my FB group it is closer to half and half.

Disney isn't ignoring Android, but they are prioritizing where their users are. I would produce an iOS app for WDWMAGIC, but would not do the same for Android. Apple has also produced a more robust platform for what Disney is doing with park entry etc, which certainly helps their developers make something that reliably works.

yeah, they kind of are ignoring android. How long have apple watches worked as MBs?

My point is when you look at total of Android users, they can include devices like $30 kids phones. These are not going to be going to Disney and part of a major vacation. iOS is only found on real phones and devices, which are far more likely to find their way into a park.

Seriously in the US the division is 50/50 - globally it is significantly less with Samsung almost always leading the pack by brand let alone OS. I also do not think this site nor the FB group I run is indicative of users. Though on my FB group it is closer to half and half based on posts we saw with issues getting DVC-Y to show up in wallets. Disney will do what Disney does, but cost of phone isn't a really good way to judge anything.
He is right though. I work in this space and while Android represents ~45% of the marketshare, the spending behaviors of the two groups are ridiculously lopsided.

Have you started using Google Wallet yet? It feels nothing like either version of GPay.
Actually yes, and it is exactly like the old GPay. Mine was simply renamed. Then again I had TWO versions of GPay. Likely the one you are thinking of which doesn't look the same and the other version which was wallet. Weirdly GPay of old looks more like Wallet. You could have both on your phone. Most didn't.

I'd love to see a $30 phone anywhere. Seriously. But I think this isn't a good argument to keep going. Disney chooses to favor one and that's fine, but honestly it's a bit short sighted to think it's all about what you are saying. One is easier to use than the other. So they choose to favor them. However I think you didn't realize no android watches had the same functionality as apple and haven't for a long time now. That's flat out ignoring and honestly annoying to those of us with flagship phones.

Agree on MagicMobile being a better option for. most people, but the 2 hour thing I don't think is anything like a normal MagicBand+ experience. They appear to be able to go for at least a day of typical use.

Laughing because I assume this is being silly... the media is not loading on my page at all - so if it is serious don't take me as trolling ;)
It is a real Android phone you can buy on Amazon for $39. And there are a lot of them under $100. Just pointing out these are the devices that pad the numbers for the Android user base, but they are not the devices that are important to Disney.
