If you have a smartphone with BLE support, you no longer need a MB for ride photo linking. IMO, this significantly increases the usefulness of older MBs with a dead battery, since as long as you have your phone the photos will still link.
What is BLE ?

So that brings up a question I’ve had forever and never asked on a Disney forum (I know…shocking)…

What do you do with the photo pass pictures? Do they result in anything in the longterm?

I’ll have fireworks in my backyard if you’d be so willing to give me your money. 👍🏻
I print off pics with them or share them with family and friends. We pose for most rides so they make good holiday card additions.

So they say.... never got it to work. Will try again next month. I've tried to figure it out to no avail. If I can regularly get it to work I'll never wear a mb again

Something that will be interesting to see is whether Disney continues to invest in premium design (non-solid color) / limited edition current-gen MBs, or if they will only do that for MB+ now.

IMO, if moving forward all limited edition / premium design bands are MB+ it would essentially guarantee MB+‘s success.

If people want something with a watch face??

The current band would look “less redundant” as they don’t mimic a watch look…sorta

Oh no. Without a MB with a functional battery, how will I go on living without my 83rd on-ride photo from HM or Pirates or Everest?? They will revoke my "Disney Parks Fan" membership card!!

I also have a gesture for this thing, but it's not family-friendly, nor Bob-friendly. :D

I'm sure it's not for everyone, but I know lots of people that get new pics every trip. 📷 Myself included. It's fun to see how my family has changed over the years. Even as I've watched my son grow, my wife and myself get older. 😬 Trips with different family members. Disney World is one of the last pics I have of my dad. Never know whats gonna between trips. 🤷‍♂️A couple of my son's different girlfriends. And this trip with his fiance. 💍Then as his family grows. 👨‍👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 So much fun to go through the pics when we get home and when we start planning the next trip. I hope I make it to my 83rd on ride photo. If they have a Disney Parks Fan card, sign me up. 🏰 Although mine should say Disney World as I haven't been to the west coast. But it's on the list.📃

…I wasn’t saying/implying that at all.

Disney has already stated they would be available at pre-arrival pricing.
"Pre-Arrival" pricing should be free, or a slight upcharge. When we used to get the MBs in the mail, our family went on full vacation-ready mode and had their maps out with sharpies circling their most important attractions and experiences. Too bad we can't get that back without spending $150 for my family of 5 to get theirs.

I am interested in hacking one of these once they have critical mass. I hope the rechargable nature of them keeps more out of the landfill. And, I hope they actually live up to their hype.
