Is this really going to make Harmonious a better experience?

Glow With the Show ears at World of Color legitimately did if you were lucky enough to be there a night when there was high participation (i.e. almost never). But these ain't that.

Personally I think they look cool, but I’m skeptical that the value of that, plus the limited extra functionality, is worth the extra cost + the inconvenience of having to recharge them nightly.
I highly doubt they'll need to be charged nightly. A Fitbit has about five days of battery life, and this has less functionality than a Fitbit.

Even if they did, sticking a thing on charger takes exactly five seconds.

Cool. Haptic feedback.
What's wrong with haptic feedback?

Plain old MagicBands sell like mad. These are slightly better and slightly more expensive. I expect they'll also sell like mad.
I personally don't see the value of a small light up ring and haptic feedback. It seems like too much of a novelty to justify any extra expense for the average guest. Traditional MagicBands at least offer some degree of practical function, like utilizing admission/resort access, paying for purchases, redeeming Genie+ selections, etc.

MB+ doesn't seem to offer anything of value, much like it's dear cousin, CNN+.

So are they definitely $30 for the solid colour ones that were sold today or so we think that was a mistake and they’ll actually be more expensive?

Even if MB+ offered zero new functionality beyond a rechargeable battery, there's value in a $30 band that you buy once versus a $20 band you replace every two years when the battery dies.

They've also promised actual in-park interactive elements. It's not just the light and the buzz buzz. They're going to cause the 50th anniversary statues and other things to actually DO stuff. But again, even if you discount all of that and say it has zero value, the rechargeable battery is the reason I'll be buying one.

And hopefully additional functionality in the future. It's just getting started.

The value is $0.00…give or take a few rubles

They have made the entire compound 101% phone/app dependent.

This really “does” nothing
