Magical Dreams really all that random?

I agree my wife and i feel that we will not get picked for any big prizes because we do not have kids. We are the kids. I realy feel this whole Year of a million dreams is a joke we are going on our third trip and know of many others that have gone multiple times and have not gotten anything or seen any one be granted something. We were at the Flower and garden fest. and some one was handing out seed packs and my wife said to the guy next to us must be a YOAMD, and we all laughed:ROFLOL:
People are too cynical.

Just because you never got a prize doesn't mean it's fixed against you.

There's also a big difference between Dream Team-given prizes and the pixie dust that some CMs are empowered to spread at their own discretion. Pixie dust has always been a part of WDW and DLR. This is nothing new at WDW and DLR. Unfortunately, some people have their good time ruined by perceiving that other people are having a better time.

Get over it. The chance of anyone winning anything is very very small. As I sat outside Toy Story Pizza Planet one day, I saw several families wearing Dream FASTPASSes around their necks. That was maybe 10 people out of about 1,000 that probably passed by me as I sat there. That's 1%!!!

I asked someone how/when they got it. They said they were getting off the Great Movie Ride, and the Dream Team told them, when they themselves asked, that everyone on the second car in the first Great Movie Ride tram that returned to the exit at or after 3:40 p.m. was to receive one of those.

That is what "random" means. They didn't scout out which tram had the most "perfect" families in it.

ANd by the way, those specifications are spit out by a computer in Elgin, Illinois, so it's not even done on Disney property.

The only thing that is NOT totally random is the awarding of the Cinderella Castle suite, but the only non-random part of that is the timing. They award that in the earlier part of the day so that the guests can enjoy their stay -- how stinky would it be to be awarded the stay in the Castle suite at 10:30 p.m. as you're carrying your exhausted kids out of MGM? The kids wouldn't even get anything out of it. So that's why they award that prize earlier in the day, to give people ample time to get a ride back to their hotel room, pack a bag, etc.

Lighten up, everyone.

some of the cm's can award magical moment certificates and give away some things that may be subjective.

i know when we went to the three amigo's ride in mexico, the line was pretty long, but we watched some of the people getting in line, none of them had a great attitude, they did not even acknowledge the cm at the entrance. but as we walked in prepared for the wait in line, i started chatting with the cm, big smiles, loud hellos, (well not too loud, although i did have a few margaritas by the time LOL ) any way we asked how he was, and how his day was going. i mean what else was there to do, be a part of the line that was moody and grumpy? nope, not my style.

well the cm, asked what our names were and gave us a certificate and said we were his vip family! he took us out of line and walked us to the head of the line and gave us a boat to ourselves! we were thrilled mainly because of the special moment, but some of the thrill came when we heard very loud grips and b*t*ches coming from the moody, grumpy people in line.

so another thing to remember, have a magical time while you are there, do not expect anything. have fun, be nice to those cm's, you just never know.

Does anyone get mad when you see a little two year old wearing a Dream Fastpass, which probably nearly all the rides he or she cannot go on because their too small?

I mean, I know it's only fair, and part of the rules, but still.... I guess I'm just annoyed that I haven't won anything yet.

My daughter is 18 months and we went on a ton of rides and shows. Really the only things she couldnt go on was the height requirement rides like the coasters and such. So fast passes do come in handy for younger children too....they are sometimes more helpful.....ever have to stand in line with a hot, cranky, 18 month old who just wants down and you have to tell them "no just another 20 minute wait sweetie." I would have LOOOOVED to have fast passes.
