Fascinating how many things did get built, and in the same spot, but Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise and a Discoveryland with EPCOT attractions? What a dream castle park.
Yes, I think what struck me the most is how much of the park actually looks more or less like what they built.

That Discoveryland proposal as a mini-EPCOT is particularly interesting, though. Especially that The Land and Living Seas were proposed as clones. One thing that I find interesting is the narrative that Disney found EPCOT Center a bit of a flop they struggled to get guests to embrace, but then you see things like this and the plans for Westcot and they certainly seemed at least open to cloning a lot of it.

Looking at booking early next year. I’m sure I read that Thunder Mountain will be down for 6 months start of this year, and also start of next. Does anyone know if that’s still the plan?

It’s kind of the dealmaker for me as it’s my favourite ride there so I’d rather delay if that’s the case.

I would say that is likely, yes. The rumors regarding the refurbishment have been correct so far so I don't see any reason to believe they won't close it down next year too.

This is one of the things I'm most excited for, it looks so good on this 2 second clip and will certainly not only bring this amazing show building to life once more but also add so much kinetic energy to the land during the night. I would love to see the return of the smoke effects and the boom as well, unfortunately it looks like SW will remain for the time being but this would go a long way in bringing back what is a dead cannon to life.

I’m cautiously optimistic the current theme doesn’t have too long left.

Part of that rumour was SM going down after BTM opens. If that happens I’d say it’s likely to repeat next year.

Curious about the timing, have they even announced a closing date for SM yet?

And would BTMRR go down again right after the end of the Xmas season, or later?
