So glad I don't go in the summer. That would suck to have plans for MK that day, or have ADR's somewhere in the park and not be able to get in.

I never understand why people go to Disney during these busy times. Unless you have kids and don't want to take them out of school...just plain crazy.

You get to see some of the best firework shows anywhere on the 4th. :)

Why we are in the "bad parent group " who takes our kids out of school every September....(please don't flame me people ....I already know!!!)

We went after our Disney cruise in April . The cruise itself , you could not tell it was school vacation....Magic Kingdom , Epcot etc....whole other thing.....We'll stick to September!!!

There is no substitute for the real thing, and remember that on the 4th, you get special edition shows, not just the regular Illum or Wishes.

I'm SO glad my grandparents always took me out of school when we went every year. They never wanted to deal with the crowds. I don't think a week or two out of a kids school year is really going to stunt their intellectual growth!

I was never there during the Spring Break times except on my CP in Spring '98. I was floored by the crowds. Unbelievable.

please don't flame me i asked a CM what the capacity for mk he said 100,000 i thought that was a bit much so take with a grain of salt but that's what he said.

I think that the actual number could be higher.

I just finished watching this TV special on Discovery HD Theater that featured some of the most popular malls across the world and some of these malls handled over 100,000 customers a day.

If an enclosed mall could handle people that day, then I think it's possible for an open wide and vast theme park to handle a lot more.

Although I don't have the exact measurements between the malls relative to the Magic Kingdom park, my point is that the 100,000 figure is not as far-fetched as many might think.

My parents used to take my sister, brother, and me out of school in October to go. I'll never forget having to do my makeup work in the car on the way home.

Malls may be able to handle 100,000 people in a day but they will not be there at one time. Many people come and go so at any given time there would be nowhere near 100,000 at the mall.

I always go during the summer (June) and have never been there when a park reaches capacity and goes into phased closing. Although the next trip is going be over the winter holidays after I graduate.

With the exception of this summer :)cry:), my son and I go for two weeks. Last year we were there for the 4th. I wouldn't have missed the Epcot fireworks show for anything. It was simply stunning!

I'm of the group that never pulls my kid out of school for vacation. Sucks to be my kid, huh? :)
