News Magic Kingdom and Epcot Fireworks to Resume July 1st

If June 15th was DL's plan, why didn't do it on Fri along with WDW? Or is that not the end date for Masks at DLR?

I should go to the Zoo on Tues, it has WIFI! LOL!!!!

They would prefer a Friday, and for WDW, it works. If people are resistant to wearing masks this weekend with that knowledge, it’s not a huge deal. No state or county laws to contend with at WDW. They still must maintain masks at DL until the 15th under state law, so there they must announce later.

A single announcement for both properties at the same time would absolutely garner media attention. By dividing the announcements, they hope to avoid much attention. The first part of that strategy worked.

Were the rumors of HEA premiering with “perimeters” ever true, and if so, was it this odd configuration?

This seems like 2 extra main launches on the left and right side which form a 180 degree line.

If they have HEA cast scheduled for the 1st, if that isn’t the relaunch date, might they do a media only preview or something? That would allow them to retrain the cast. How can they fully train with nobody in the park?

Eh they could lol. Ok maybe not media lol but maybe cast members.

Thankfully for Disney, American news outlets were busy covering G7 on Friday. I haven’t actually seen much mention of the mask update anywhere. I am sure this pleases the Disney overlords. Perhaps it will get more press when they announce the same for Disneyland on Tuesday. Then again, American news runs on the East Coast schedule, so a 4 pm PDT announcement Tuesday may not get too much attention. We will see. I’m not privy to marketing decisions, but if I were in charge, I’d announce the July fireworks on Tuesday around noon and then quietly drop DL updates late in the day. Let the attention focus on fireworks.

Not to mention that seemed like a big deal then. Pretty much every large business still required masks at the time. Now just about nobody requires it for vaccinated folks, so Disney just looks like they're joining the party

Yeah it would after all they have been through during Covid and their very limited park availability.

Now we leave July 2nd so really hoping that July 1st fireworks rumor turns out to be true. Crazy how MK is totally sold out for park reservations those first two weeks in july.
