I wasn’t surprised that they didn’t add a tag at the end but rather that in the park they almost seemed to go out of their way to not recognize the holiday at all.
I mean...they did flag retreat, had fireworks or some kind, and put red, white, and blue on the castle. Not sure what else they do even during a normal year frankly.

They didn't have any problem at Disneyland having a tag at the end. They also had stated they would do the regular show in California only but then surprised their Guests. It amazes me how people will continue to make excuses for Disney being cheap. This is why Walt Disney World Guests continue to get less for more.
Disneyland already has developed tags to add onto their shows which they’ve used during the 60th or other occasions. WDW doesn’t. It’s the full show or nothing at all. And coming out of a pandemic just trying to establish the return of daily Ops fireworks, the budget for a one time tag wasn’t a priority.

We are only expecting what WDW has done in the past.

I know that the only reason I had any desire to visit Disney during the 4th of July (hot and crowded) was to see the extra entertainment. Fireworks at MK & Epcot and the voices of liberty at Epcot.

At Disneyland I went for the 4th as well to see the tag at world of color and special fireworks at Disneyland... although I didn’t really see them at Disneyland... pop up shoulder kids right in front of me and nowhere to move when you’re packed in for the 4th!

Just to be clear, I'm talking more from a conceptual point of view; I personally don't really care if Disney did any seasonal stuff and would rather they invest that money into making the baseline of the parks as good as possible. That's the principle I would want them to pursue.

I get the idea that Disney has set certain expectations based on their history and "expecting" the same does make sense.

That being said, I don't think there would have been much reason to expect anything special this year especially as Disney had made no indications that it would be anything beyond the regular shows.

Disneyland had the 1st Marine Division Band do shows in both parks, during the flag retreat they also performed and had daytime pyro.

Some themed treats were present…

Then of course the fireworks tag.

I didn't have time to skim through this thread, but is there a posted time as to when they'll be showing HEA during the Boo Bash nights? We're only doing 4 regular days in the parks so if we can watch HEA a few times before it's gone that'd be great.

They haven’t announced that.

No Tink but that was it. HEA was brilliant again tonight! IDK why EF was called. Different policies maybe?
I'm thinking they thought it was going to be windy. I'm at Magic Kingdom tonight and It's not windy at all. Perfect night to be in the park. Low wait times and at least for the moment it's only sprinkling.
