Is there any further info about the rumor that the Tiki Room would be overlaid or closed outright? I don't know if that was ever planned as a 50th project, but I didn't want to bump the thread again and make anyone panic. Hoping that plan has been scrapped.

Also was there ever a rumor that Peter Pan might get updated? I assume if they did it would probably copy Tokyo's changes.

Things pretty iffy, IMO:

a) Launch Bay and Star Tours replacements, and Star Wars Hub shows: I'm sure it's the plan to replace them. But without a plan for the plan, the plan is inertia and just letting them be.
b) Tower of Terror: If they're touching it, it won't be a minor thing. TZ will be out.
c) ITTBaB: no insider has given that any odds of that ever being touched.
d) I doubt WDW will take credit for a Swolphin tower.

Maybe it's just me, but I love list like this. While I know there is a whole rumor thread (and website), I also like this here in it's own way to keep track of possible things for the 50th. I think it would be neat to see these things (and possible updates to it over time) categorized. I am certainly not the person to do it, but I was thinking categories like:

Under Construction [16] - Tron Coaster, GotG Coaster, Space Restaurant, Rat ride, Star Wars Land + rides, Mickey and Minnie railroad, NBA experience, Skyliner, Coronado Tower, Riviera Tower, refurb of tomorrowland facades, Club 33, Star Wars Resort

Permits or Confirmed by Insiders [13] - New Nightime Parade, Illuminations New Show, new China Film, New Cirque Show at Disney Springs, Circle of Life Replacement, Refreshed France Film, new fireworks show (wasn't sure, and was too lazy to look it up), New Swan and Dolphin Hotel (but does it count), Carousel of Progress Update, Lightning McQueen Show, Spine Renovation{3}

Currently Blue Sky Concepts [12] - Speedway Update, WOL rumored replacement(2), Brazil, Mary Poppins ride [wasn't sure where to put this}, Ride/Attraction at DHS/DAK, People Mover update, Seas with Nemo Update, New Resort, Project 89, Living with the Land Update, replacement for a show at Hollywood Studios, Stich Replacement

Not likely to finish by 50th [8]- Launch Bay replacement, Yeti Fixed, Coco Overlay, Star Tours Replacement, New Monorails (I imagine this has a better shot than I give it but I kind of put it here hoping someone corrects me), Path of the Jedi Replacement, New Hub show at HS

Wishful thinking [10] - Thunder Mountain Third Lift, Hatbox Ghost, spaceship earth update, Fantasmic! Update, Primeval Whirl Replacement, Nemo Theater replacement, rivers of light update/replacement, tough to be a bug replacement, new slide at blizzard beach, 50th parade

Signs point to...maybe [3] - Small world adds Disney characters, Jungle Cruise adds movie tie in, Pixar short film replacement)

etc... Again, I am not the best for this, as I know I have things wrong and missed things already, and I might be the only one that would find this interesting in parallel to the rumor threads/websites.

Some nits:

Club 33 is announced, two are open, one is under construction and the fourth will be under construction soon.

New Cirque Show is sort of announced.

Star Wars Resort is announced and under construction.

Spine Renovation is announced.

Stitch replacement is likely to be finished by the 50th seeing how the full Tommorowland refresh is a 50th 'gift.'

There is zero talk of ToT 'update' (any more -- that we know of).

Lightning McQueen show is announced.

The amount of construction, quiet reopenings from smallish scale refurbs, event openings of new attractions, and everything else... It would be crazy anf impractical for 50 things to be in one year unless they are counting just bathroom cleaning and everything.

So, 50 things spread across 2019, 2020, and 2021. Let's count up what those might be based on the info we have and rumors and safe assumptions.

  1. Tron Coaster
  2. Club 33 (hopefully only counted more than once for all four parks)
  3. Thunder Mountain Third Lift Hill Effects (rumors pointed towards this being postponed to the 50th)
  4. Hatbox Ghost addition (rumored that a second was built when the built Disneyland's and just stored in a warehouse for the 50th)
  5. Small World adding Disney characters (uuuuuggghhhhh fine. It's rumored)
  6. Carousel of Progress update (insiders say it's happening as relatively major)
  7. People Mover update (probably small, new scene or two)
  8. Speedway update (tronify it)
  9. New nighttime parade
  10. New fireworks show (new projection show at the very least)
  11. Jungle Cruise Update tied to movie (rumored for if the movie does well)
  12. New Spaceship Earth Update (just my assumption, but it feels like a new narrator is overdue. And while I'd hope for a new descent, just updating what you do with the screens to be less terrible could be enough for now)
  13. GotG Coaster
  14. Wonders of Life rumored replacement
  15. Space Restaurant
  16. Pixar Short Film Replacement (even just new Pixar/Disney shorts. Don't even need to make anything actually new if they don't want to)
  17. Living will the Land Update
  18. Circle of Life Replacement (assumed)
  19. Seas with Nemo Update
  20. Rat Ride
  21. Poppins Ride (or whatever in the UK)

  31. Mickey Minnie Railroad
  32. Launch Bay Replacement
  33. Lightning McQueen show
  34. Replacement for one of the current shows at Hollywood studios
  35. Fantasmic Update (rumored? Assumed? Not sure)
  36. Path of the Jedi Replacement
  37. Tower of Terror update (nothing too crazy probably)
  38. New HUB stage show in Hollywood Studios
  39. Star Tours Replacement (kind of a long shot to be so soon. But presumably will happen eventually, why not in 2021? Should be a relatively quick retheme once the video is made)
  40. Yeti being fixed (brought up again by Rhodes recently. The 50th would be perfect)
  41. Primeval Whirl replacement (whatever that winds up being)
  42. Nemo theater replacement (if that does still happen)
  43. River of Light update/replacement
  44. Tough to Be a Bug Replacement (my assumption. It's not popular or beloved. And a 3D movie is easy enough to replace cheaply and quickly)
  45. New Monorails
  46. New Swan and Dolphin Tower
  47. New Resort
  48. New Slide at Blizzard Beach (assumed. It's way overdue especially with Volcano Bay)
  49. NBA Experience at Disney Springs
  50. New Cirque Show at Disney Springs

So, that's 50 without very few assumptions not based on things currently rumored and being discussed and no real stretching. If you could starting in 2019 at least which, as I said, is only practical for 50 things.

Realistically, does anyone know if there is a chance the temporary Star Wars stuff at Studios will be replaced by the 50th? The HUB show, Path of the Jedi, Launch Bay. They all seem like they'd be easy to replace. And it also feels like two years after Galaxy's Edge opening is around yhe time they'd want star wars stuff to be replaced everywhere else

The idea that any of those would be replaced at the same time as SWL opening or shortly thereafter would only be realistic if there was something greenlit to replace them. And there isn't. All those things are assumed to be going away, but until a decision is made and money budgeted, they're staying forever. Or, at the worst, remaining empty like Stitch's Great Escape.

Insiders have said that Star Tours will be around for one or two years past SWL to soak up the extra SW crowds and to highlight a scene from Episode 9. But until they tell us what has definitely been decided to replace ST... expect it to be around for many years to come.

if they finally get rid of ST, please move the game back to Wonders of life to fix "body wars" with IDK a inside-out or if you want something more marvel, ant-man!

No can do on Ant-Man. And I could be wrong, but I don't think you will find many people around here clamoring for "more Marvel!!!" at WDW.

Personally, I'd have no problem with keeping Star Tours around for years after the opening of SW:GE, simply from the standpoint that 3 SW attractions > 2 SW attractions.

If we rewind 10 years we could only dream we were talking about so many updates and additions with many either announced or a serious possibility. It’s sure to keep me booking trips for years to come...let’s see how serious they are about improving WDW and making up for 2 decades of mistakes.
