The promenade now has too much clutter was never really designed for a parade. Nations/Dreams had a few tight areas was a complete mess as it was. With the increasingly number of permanent structures being added yearly it seems - not to mention the annually increasing time period of festivals and that the temporary shacks seem to be left up for now running a parade would be an has always been a complete operational nightmare if not impossible.

Cleared that up a bit for ya. ;)

I never imagined the parades using the entire pathways from side to side in futureworld witouth leaving any space to move from the sides.
my comparison was on MK's main street btw.. which pretty much clogs the whole way unless you use the sidepass or the stores.

There are sidewalks running the length of the parade route in Magic Kingdom, which itself runs parallel to the entrance of the park as it is. Your proposal would have a parade running perpendicular to the entrance of Epcot, thereby cutting off access in and out of the park. It's really not hard to understand.

Unless you're proposing a parade that lasts all of five minutes, there's really no way to do any of that.

And why you cant make "sideways" in the route in epcot?
There are also alternate ways AROUND. See the maps of Epcot! (left of epcot thru the gardens, right of epcot thru test track).

I guess I could make an image of the route on a map but would be worthless anyway.
Plus its not like they do not open the paths between distanced floats (flow control to cross street) on MK.

That should be the motto for the WDWMagic News and Rumor forum.
I can't believe we are talking about parade's at Epcot. I miss the old parade there around world showcase but that will never happen again. And seriously we are talking about a parade up front? What will that be? Oh wait I have an idea day of the dead of Epcot parade. Epcot needs new rides, exhibits and countries not a parade.

unfortunately considering Disney.. I dont think even "new rides" are in top priority vs "replacement with characters".. let alone parades..

I know it's sad. Everything needs to be run through the bean counters to make sure they can get enough of profit from it. The reason we didn't get SWL earlier was they wanted to be 110% sure force awakens was going to break all records, etc. Instead of the old saying if you build it they will come. Instead they were ok with having a bunch of CM's dress up in Star wars stuff and walk around the graveyard they call DHS.

In all honesty, SWL was delayed due to constant improvements. redesigns and being moved. That's a plus point. The minus point is that DHS was allowed to slip into the mess it became.

Burbank held it up. It's up to Orlando to try to fill the void (very messily IMHO) in the meantime.

In fairness though TDO knew all those things and chose to demo rides and capacity so that they could reduce OPEX for a few years so that P&R could inflate its margins and enhance bonuses for the undeserving.

Does anyone really think that TDO could have achieved their current 24.9% margin without shedding the operating costs of the shuttered attractions in DHS

In 11 years P&R under iger has never been able to break the mid teens for operating margin, Magically after trashing DHS we are now up to 24.9%

When is SWL supposed to come online at DHS 2021 or so at the earliest estimate. We've already got the unofficial guide saying SKIP DHS entirely.

And no I don't think Pandora is going to take up the slack in the intervening 5 years and when SM goes offline because of track issues well...

But TDO is going to build more hotels before 2018, yeah that will help the issues at the parks.

These days I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the current state of the parks
