Disneyland ain't opening soon and they together will all California theme parks will struggle when they eventually open next year. Just bring the Disneyland Magic Happens parade to WDW for the 50th as a day parade and PTN as night.
How do we think DLR will open? Like WDW on July 11th 2020 with Little Entertainment: Cavalcades? Or will COVID be down enough to actually do Magic Happens or a 5 Min Fantasy In The Sky?

If DL was locked till late 2022/2023 the I would go for Magic Happends for the 50th. But I would like to think that Magic Happens returned or at least has a return date at DL by Oct 1st, 2021!

FOF is superior in my book but MH has Moana, Coco and Frozen 2 - the top films in the most recent years. When I watched it personally on March 1st, those 3 got the best cheers. They were quiet when Cinderella came and a lot did not know who Merlin or Arthur was which is offensive lol!
I know how you feel my daughter knows new disney, not by accident but it’s all she watches, you can’t get her to watch old content because she falls asleep.

Took her to peter pan and the only character she recognized was “mermaid“(Ariel as she likes to call her) and that’s it haha

Do they start selling next years merch soon or do we have to wait for next year?

As much as I would love to go to Walt disney‘s world 50th anniversary, to be honest Nintendo Land in Japan is calling my name, now I’m thinking of diverting my planned wdw 50th anniversary trip to To japan more than anything I think.

If DL is closed that long, they’ll give up on it. Surely it will open in the next six months, right?

I just saw that surveys suggest about 75% of Americans would get the vaccine. That would severely limit disease spread and severity by late Spring (so say projections) and end the pandemic altogether during the 2nd half of the year.

So, I would expect DL to reopen in the spring with social distancing.

I don't think it will that quick that by next year it will end. Here in Canada they figure it will take til at least September for everyone to get the vaccine. IMO too many people are way to optimistic that once a vaccine comes a switch is flipped and everything is open again.

Please tell me I'm not the only person who was geeking out when Merlin/Wart and Arthur were confirmed to be in the parade?

I think people’s finances wouldn’t be that great to travel.

Even then I think if you get the vaccine you can still get the virus and be immune to it and still spread it to un vaccinated people right? Imagine the drama it would cause for the people who still couldn’t get the it because of availability I think Despite precautions.

DL would never give up Magic Happens in the near future, but, so long as the finale unit switched out a few floats, MH would be a great fit for DHS, between the content and scale. Maybe an even better fit than it is for DL.

Yeah we can’t expect them to give up both PTN And MH. If they even are still giving up PTN? Then there’s the ongoing mystery of MSEP.

I think there's huge variations among the populace. A lot of people are struggling very much in this economy and certainly wouldn't have much financial ability to travel to a relatively costly place like WDW.

OTOH, there's quite a few people who's finances have been dramatically impacted by the pandemic (essentially workers, those who shifted the telework, etc.) and many of those folks did not take vacations (or took much cheaper vacations) this past year. Among that crowd, there's probably a lot of pent up demand and available resources to do trips like going to WDW.

I'm not sure what will have the greater impact, but I do expect that once we are back to "normal" in terms of COVID, that there will be an initial big pick up in travel. How high and how long it will be sustained will be based on the health of the economy and populace in general.

I am amazed they put an age on it. Surely if they change them out it is for a reason and does not need to be justified as long as it is done to code?

I did some research on this and it turns out that standard sprinkler heads need to be tested starting at 50 years from installation and then every 10 years after that. This requires a sampling of the heads to be removed and sent to a lab for testing. Maybe they just decided that it made more sense just to replace them instead of doing the testing.

Thank you! So it is a code issue :)
