Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Plans

As for any park upgrades in the coming years, anyone think they will make the MNSSHP and MVMCP special lighting in Frontierland and Main Street permanent? They already have the permanent towers in the hub. As of right now they don’t have much of a need for them year round, but eventually, hopefully, when a nighttime parade returns they might.

I would love to see the Disneyland Forever projection mapping of Main Street make it to this coast - but that seems like an upgrade for the 50th we’d have likely caught at least a whiff of by now. @marni1971, any whiffs of that possibility?

I don’t know, aside from the projected new shows.

Apparently so. SWAGS is still a work in progress a bit I believe and RoL may be tweaked.

By 'parade' we mean an 'electric' night parade, right? And isn't FoF supposed to get tweaked (or replaced) to be a 50th Anniversary parade? By all the inside rumors hints given it should be:

1. RoL: Tweak or whole scale revamp depending on the imagineer / accountant you talk to.
2. SWaGS: only what @marni1971 has just said above, i.e., tweaking. And, a continued unexplained (to the public) absence of real fireworks
3. Epcot: Illuminations: Windows of the World, new! Now with drones! And IP! But still world-focused!!
4. HEA: Whole new 50th Anniversary show... or... tweaks to make it 50-ish.
5. FoF: Whole new 50th Anniversary show... or... tweaks to make it 50-ish.
6. New night time MK 'electric' parade for the 50th

For me Magic Kingdom is a fantastic park but is just missing so many of the little things that make Disneyland so incredible.

I was amazed one night when I was walking down an empty path in Disneyland near the castle and Snow White started to sing down the well, the fountains started, the fish came out...it’s a tiny example of what elevates Disneyland to another level. I don’t want replicas, I want Magic Kibgdom to not feel like the child that’s loved slightly less, for once.

The interactive windows down Main Street...have I just missed these in Florida?

The Magic Kingdom used to have window diorama back in the 70's and 80's.

That’s cool...but why do Disneyland keep getting all the cool little extras nowadays? Magic Kingdom needs some love too.

Separate/similar note....PLEASE sort out old Fantasyland...it looked dated 20 years back. Again, Disneyland leads the way here.

IaSW needs relocation. And WDW needs the Tokyo version. It is a wonder. That would allow so many new things to happen at the MK.

People advocating for this are not trolling. It is a very serious solution.

Agreed. By tearing down the IASW building, that would open up the area around it for so many possibilities. Plus, I think that IASW would work better in EPCOT. Put it where the Odyssey is.

I have also pictured it between the two gateway stores and partially built over the water (landfill). The classic facade would look amazing there. The roof could be viewing area for the nighttime spectacular. Corporate events, desert parties etc.

Ultimately, it depends on what someone means by "extras" of course. For example, I would consider the Adventureland pirates game to be a really great plussing at MK, but others may not like it.

Yes, night MK parade.

Is it known yet if this will be brand new or just new to MK? Lol. And will it be a true Electrical Parade or something totally different? “Night parade” doesn’t necessarily mean floats covered in millions of lights lol.

Updates or replacment of FOF would be nice but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Ultimately, it depends on what someone means by "extras" of course. For example, I would consider the Adventureland pirates game to be a really great plussing at MK, but others may not like it.

Exactly every park has its own perks and feels. Disneyland is Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom is the Magic Kingdom and what may be special to some is not to others.
