Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Plans

That’s a question I’ve heard answered both ways.

Only two existing light parade options are Paint The Night and Dreamlights. If MKs parade won’t be entirely new hopefully we are talking something along the lines of FOF which was a new concept but not 100% newly built floats.

Sorry for all the questions but did the Tokyo parade contain all new floats or were they reused ? Also didn't the Festival of Fantasy at the MK premiere in 2014 ?

As far as I know, Dreaming Up was 100% new

I still remember when Disneyland first unveiled the 60th Anniversary logo on the day of their 59th Anniversary.

Plus the only difference between the original Hong Kong version was that the DL version had a drum float and a Frozen float (Which later got replaced by The Incredibles) and different performer costumes.

Maybe Shanghai will be getting a nighttime parade soon and WDW will get a copy of it lol.

I really want this new nighttime parade. I really miss it at WDW. It's far above the other entertainment changes/rumours on my list..

I wish it would be pushed ahead of schedule. I think originally the new Illuminations was planned for the 50th but that got pushed ahead to 2019.

Except MSEP used the same soundtrack, main theme. Not that the average guest would notice lol.

I would imagine by 2021 TDL will either go through another upgrade of Dreamlights or replace it all together opening up the possibility of it going to WDW or some of its floats for a different parade. That seems like the most likely thing to happen.

If Dreamlights were to come to WDW I can almost guarantee WDW will promote it as The Main Street Electrical Parade is returning in a bright new way to Magic Kingdom Park as part of our 50th Anniversary Celebration. Lol.

The only difference between the updated MSEP music and Dreamlights soundtrack is that some of the beats and tempos for floats and the title theme are missing compared to the original version.

Except the Dreamlights floats are to big for WDW's parade route. Plus the Tokyo parade is more designed designed for Tokyo's parade route.

I keep thinking TDL would replace Dreamlights but they never do! Its been there since 2001!(with updates of course) TDL put out its 2019 plan last week, no update as of now and Celebrate! TDL is ending early. Who knows what TDL's next night move will be!
