True, but filling in Rivers of America and taking over Tom Sawyer Island would free up enough space for a new land of the scale and size of Adventureland plus expansions for Frontier and Liberty if they wanted. Plus opening the park up to further expansions in the future.

It might be a great crowd escape, but cutting it would do so much for spreading crowds out and expanding the park.
That doesn't seems to be their current path.

With that famous "blessing of size" there must be another way to expand the park. Without that lush green space, you end up with a ...wait for it... view like Pixar / Paradise Pier. Empty, soulless, and lacking design depth.

Gut Tom Sawyer’s Island and Swiss Family Treehouse. Both are outdated, large pieces of crap that can be used for other things. The large majority of people don’t care about them. It’s ridiculous that Disney has taken away rides like Snow White, Mr. Toad’s, and 20,00 Leagues yet leave crap like TSI open.

Yes, definitely eliminate the only trees left in MK! Nobody buys a ticket to relive things from such bygone eras.

How about no.

I could see them pulling a Disneyland route and shorten the rivers of America to build an expansion behind it...and then they’d be able to access the expansion pad back there, while keeping part of one of the best things in MK. I LOVE TSI and it truly is a gem in the midst of chaos.

They can build on the north side of the RoA at MK without touching RoA or TSI. It's not DL -- there's plenty of open usual space if they want to spend the money to develop it.

For the 50th since the focus will likely be nighttime additions, Tron, and tomorrowland I'm very curious as to how the land will blend. Assuming the speedway to tron/futuristic speedway is happening then what becomes of stitch? At this point Buzz is expendable but if they don't even have a plan for stitch yet I doubt they have one for a ride that still seems consistently packed for some reason. As much as I'd love to see frontierland or adventureland use their expansion pads imo that shouldn't be a top priority for the 50th.

Are you blind or do you seriously think SFT is one of the only trees left in the MK? Not to mention that the tree isn’t even real.

Could not disagree more.

TSI takes up SO much space. It’s a fine little quiet park but no kind has any idea who Tom Sawyer is and the land is just a basic island with some crappy caves. So much more could be done with it. There’s tons of other quiet spots like the Main Street train station, the walkway between Tomorrowland and fantasyland, and the rocking chairs by Big Thunder. TSI is straight garbage and it’s laughable that you need to take a boat to get there.

I'm going to assume that you either didn't go there as a kid or haven't taken your kids there, if you have them. It's a playground on a scale that you just don't see anywhere else. It's a place where kids can use their imaginations and pretend to be soldiers or pirates or adventurers. MK has plenty to offer in the way of thrills and noise. TSI is one of the few things left from a time when visiting the MK afforded lots of opportunities to slow down and just enjoy the beauty that surrounded you.

If the kid's don't know who Tom Sawyer is, their parents need to do some educating! Mark Twain is an American treasure and should be passed on to the younger generations.:bookworm: IMO.

That's the key phrase. It would definitely be cheaper to use land that is already developed than the expansion pads around TSI.

Buzz is expendable. However, I could see it staying for the long run. Like you said, it is always packed. When we were there last week, it was one of the few rides that had consistent long waits. It was higher than space mountain most of the time. It amazes me that the wait is so long because it is disgusting inside. It is a fun attraction. It is just too dirty.

You don't really understand what a "quiet spot" is, do you? None of the places you mention are "quiet spots", and you DO know what's going in off of that path between FL and TL, right?

As for your statement that "no one has any idea who Tom Sawyer is"... :banghead: I would comment further, but good manners prevent it.

I’m 19. Took honors and AP classes all throughout high school and college. We have never once talked about Mark Twain. It’s an outdated property that needs a refurb.

Tom Sawyer is too uncool for all the kewl kids out there. We need pirates, in the caves you’ll hear Johnny Depp complaining about how the rum is gone. The Fort will be closed and replaced with a break room. In front of that fort you’ll get to see a recreation of a bride auction. It’s brilliant everyone why hasn’t Disney thought of this?
