Moana could be incredible as a hybrid water / dark ride. The innovative E-ticket version of this idea would be Indiana Jones meets Jungle Cruise.

Absolutely. That would be the best thing they could do with Moana. I hope it does get a better presence in the park. It would be a great addition to Adventure Land. I just hate that they will probably do an overlay. In my opinion, that’s not adding an attraction. Disney has definitely dropped the ball on adding some of the “newer” IPs. I would love to see a dark ride for Moana, Princess and The Frog (Shadow man scene) and Wall-E.

Yep. I'd love it. Would be really incredible.

Speaking of water rides ...

I believe Tangled's water will be a flume in Tokyo (though I'm not clear if it's just a boat drop like Pirates or a Splash Mountain type experience). We get toilets.

Princess and the Frog would make an excellent version of Splash Mountain somewhere. Too bad they don't care about that IP. But Tangled also works. But I feel that's more of a slow moving boat ride (well, it works as a fast moving one too because of the one part in the movie with the rapids/water -- almost forgot about that. Could really give a boat ride a thrill if done right and on par with Shanghai's pirates -- that's probably the plan, knowing OLC and Tokyo and them letting WDI do their job right)

I know people love it. However, I would love to see them turn TSI into a bayou/ New Orleans Square and add a Princess and the Frog ride. I think the Shadow man scenes would be perfect for a dark ride.

*Quietly whispers* me too. I'd be all for this.

I like TSI but I'd be open to the right attraction replacing it. But I picture a clone of Grizzly River Rapids themed to the wild west. Not the worst idea but not worthy of a replacement.

Honestly, it surprises me that Disney has not changed TSI. An area as big as TSI would help the Magic Kingdom with crowd control.

I know it's not to be touched, but it really would. I love the quietness of it and would hate to lose it in a park that's so crowded but Frontierland and Adventureland desperately need new areas to walk around.

I think for many it's fear of what replaces it. And docking the riverboat would suck. But they could work around it if they wanted to I think. I'm sure they've tossed around ideas. We know TSI has been vulnerable in the past. I think, like the Speedway, they see the benefit of keeping it right now. I imagine it won't last forever. They'd have to eventually touch it. But I believe they can still expand for now so that's what they need to do (but we all know they like to replace and re-use).

It certainly is incredible, isn't it? Just think of what they could do if they overlaid The Incredibles on RnRC!!! Cheap props and screenz galore!

As opposed to it's current state of cheap props and no screens.

I'm just thinking "overlays" they can promote as new. But the Incredicoaster area would almost fit perfectly as an overlay of RnRc. Again, not saying I'd want it but we know they can't leave RnRc as is forever. I'd prefer one more expansion before they re-theme it though.

Sunset/Animation Courtyard has to be next on their list. Just a hunch.

Interesting you should say that. I had this idea...

Big Hero 7
On this Flight of Passage clone, Hiro offers you a ride on Baymax, but, once Hiro's nabbed, you're now committed to following along with the rest of the gang on a dizzying flight from San Fransokyo down California's Big Sur into a heroic battle in Los Angeles.

Displacing Fairfax Fare on Sunset Blvd. in Disney Hollywood Studios, the frontispiece of the attraction is California 60's big public works. This will go nicely with the rethemed Rock 'n Rollercoaster into the Incredicoaster, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror into the Doctor Strange Tower of Terror and the Theater of the Stars playing a longer and more elaborate Guardians Awesome Mix Tape Live -- all kosher with the current Universal contract ;) .

Yep! I should have underscored the word "and". :) And it could be marketed as an upgraded ride - "Look, we added to the ride, too!".

But, I have to admit I do love RnRC as a guilty pleasure. I don't care much for the cheap props, I just love the queue and the launch coaster with Aerosmith cranked in my headrest.

Um. Yes please?

And agreed, RNRC, apart from the queue and load, is nothing to write home about. I've long wanted a retheme. I'll take the Incredibles but it's just switching one lame coaster for another. I imagine The Incredibles are more timeless, classic and family friendly to Uncle Chappy.

Yes
Trouble is...as things stand...as soon as TSI gets replaced, the crowds will swarm to fill the new space. As it is, it’s one of the few reliable places to escape the crowds
True, but filling in Rivers of America and taking over Tom Sawyer Island would free up enough space for a new land of the scale and size of Adventureland plus expansions for Frontier and Liberty if they wanted. Plus opening the park up to further expansions in the future.

It might be a great crowd escape, but cutting it would do so much for spreading crowds out and expanding the park.

And don’t forget it’ll fix a dead end at big thunder!

Yeah, I know it is the only relaxing place left. That's why I thought Disney would have redeveloped it by now. In my opinion, that is Disney's way of crowd control. Instead of opening attractions across the parks to spread out crowds, they open up lands that pull massive crowds. This is not a bad thing. It would pull a lot of people from the rest of Magic Kingdom.

Honestly, it would be a bittersweet change to the parks.

Better use (higher thruput, more E-ticket, less closure/abandonment, more attractiveness of other parks) of existing space is needed before more space is thrown at the crowding problem. As stated above, more space simply will make more spaces feel crowded. What is the name of the concept that we fill whatever space is available effective negating the expected benefits of ever increasing space availability. There is an actual limit on the space available, whether current space or expanded space.

Won't help the crowds as Disney would just let more people through the gate.
