I just can't understand why somebody would go to Disney during this time of the year, or during Christmas. I guess I am fortunate enough to plan trips during when it is less crowded.

Today, March 29th, at 11:45 am the Magic Kingdom closed due to reaching capacity. It was a Phase II closure so only WDW resort guests and Premium/Annual Passholders were allowed in the park...
Is there ever a time when they close the parks to resort guests and passholders also? I have been to WDW during the summer peak season and I don't recall WDW staff ever not letting us in. Maybe during holidays??

I know last Christmas, MK was completely closed at one point, but they opened it up later that day.

Oops posted my question before I looked at disneydata's post later on explaining it all! Sorry about that. Thank you disneydata though for the explanation!

And I have to agree with Foolish Mortal, any day in WDW or the Magic Kingdom is better than the real world! :sohappy:

Wow! This is surprising. I thought it would be pretty busy because some people are still on spring break (even though Central Florida is back in school) and it's still Eastertime but I didn't think it would be this busy at all. I was thinking about going on Friday since it's Senior skip day but now I don't think I will.... :(

The main switchboard operator will not release what "phase" the park is in, but if you call and ask if for example is MK open, they will ask a couple of questions to see where you fall into the current phase and base the answer off of that. Keep in mind what they tell you at 10:01 has a good chance of changing by 10:10.

Am I missing it??? I dont see anything explaining each Phase. :)

Just for the record, phases are (they added a new one!)

Alternative parking: Due to limited parking, guests arriving at MK should use alternate parking at Epcot and use Resort transportation to return to MK.

Phase 1: Guests with MYW base tickets, one day tickets, guests with no admission, and CMs using a main gate are turned around at the Auto Plaza.

Phase 2: Only resort guests, AP/PAP, Park Hoppers, guests re-entering the same park admitted, ONLY if using a taxi or resort transportation. (Auto Plaza is closed)

Phase 3: Only resort guests and AP/PAP admitted. (Only resort transportation)

Phase 4: Closed to all guests. (basically no incoming transportation)

I'll bet that's what the mirror at Cindy's Castle is all about. It's counting people, and that's how they know when to close the park. I knew there was something sinister about the mirror.

Hmmm.......Super Secret Mirror?
