Magic Friends

Our neighborhood was great when we first moved in - everyone was always out socializing all summer - we had some great times! Then we went through about 10 years of some pretty quistionable characters moving in. That, together with cesspool issues, kept us pretty much prisoners in our own homes. Now we have a lot of young families again - not the same as old times, but not too bad!

Sad to see the old neighborhood change.
Sounds like yours may be perking up, though.
Let's hope so.
So many people have no pride in ownership.
I don't understand that.

4.
Slowly but surely I'm chugging along.

Savor, Freddy, savor.
It's the only way to read.

I love to read.
And I am quite sure that this will be the last time I read the HP books for quite some time, so I really do want to enjoy them thoroughly.

Me too.
And I am enjoying them much more than I even thought I would.
I'll probably read them again someday, but probably not for a while.

We're like a cult. :lookaroun

:lookaroun You're not going to make me shave my head and chant are you?

Would they have a problem with that?

Maybe :lookaroun - I think they're a little tired of hearing about Disney. Seriously, I feel a little guilty at times when I share my enthusiasm - most people in my family will never be able to afford a trip there - and DH's job makes a lot of things more possible for us. I really don't want it to seem to them that I'm flaunting that. I just want everyone to be as excited about it as I am. :o

I'm very glad that I decided to reread them. I am now noticing things I never noticed in previous readings. And I had forgotten more than I realized.
Maybe its because I know what will happen.
J.K. sure does a lot of foreshadowing that I never really picked up on.
Especially about Ginny in CoS.

I'm sure that I will read them again eventually, but it most likely will not be for several years.

Dave's family doesn't understand it at all, so I just don't talk about it with them anymore. His brother and his wife spend every vacation in Atlantic City - to each his own!

I know what you mean.
And I'm sure they are happy for you. But a little jealous in spite of themselves. It's human nature.

I am amazed at how much I've forgotten.
I'm getting so much more out of them this time.

I hate Atlantic City, but we have friends who love it.
And we have friends who love Mexico and others who love cruising.
To each their own . . .

For both Mike and I, our dads' idea of a vacation was staying home from work. My dad always took a trip with his brothers in the fall to Canada for fishing, but whenever we traveled, there was always a reason we had to, y'know? Not just to relax.
But I don't get the Atlantic City thing. Or the gambling thing. Mike and I went to Wheeling Downs once out of curiosity - and I found it boring. Pulling levers on machines gets old, and the smoke that hangs in the air..:hurl:
But as you said, to each their own. We went as a lark, but we have no desire to ever do that again.
Disney on the other hand....:D

Our family doesn't cruise - that Titanic thing I guess....

Apparently we're a lot more fun than most people! :D
