Pride and Prejudice SUCKS! :lookaroun
Okay, now I really like you, but even I might have to do away with you after that! :animwink:

I've never read anything by Jane Austen even though some of my friends swear that I will like her work. I'm afraid that it might be too romantic and whimsical for my taste.
If you don't want to read P&P, at least watch the Colin Firth version of the novel. It's a mini series and very faithful to the book. You may just love Colin Firth like every other woman did after seeing the movie :lookarounI've never read anything by Jane Austen even though some of my friends swear that I will like her work. Well, you can read Shakespeare.. What are you expecting?

However, I really did enjoy the book. It's not your typical romance, and it's very sassy and forward for their time.

One of the few books I've ever put down...
'Course, as a fifth grader, girls were still semi-icky and boring.
Nevertheless... :lookaroun
I avoid Shakespeare.
Well that's pretty descriptive of her style as a writer, too.
In a way, he's been typecast as a result of doing Pride and Prejudice. His role in Love Actually was named Darcy (like Mr. Darcy in P&P), his name in What a Girl wants is Henry Dashwood, a character from Sense and Sensibility. It's what he's known for :lol:I haven't seen the movie, but I do love Colin Firth.
But all of literature (including the stuff before him) stems from Shakespeare!I avoid Shakespeare.
Bonne nuit.Alright, Ladies and Gents, I have to get back to my research now. Have a good night, all!

Or so I hear. :lookaroun
