Magic Carpets of Aladdin closed for refurbishment in December

I guess I'm in a minority...Adventureland is my favorite land. I love the theming and the 3 big attractions (JC, PotC, Tiki).

At the same time, I was disgusted when I went back one year and MC was there. Quoting EPCOT Explorer, it's definitely "...big, flashy, ugly, and disrupts the delicate theme of Adventureland."

I don't disagree that kids like it, but it doesn't belong in AL. It's cartoon-based and should be in the land based around cartoons: FL.

Aland for all intents and purposes should be the best land.

Then they ruined the Tikis and plopped that infernal spinner in there.

And no, PatF does not belong in Aland.

Woah wait! What is this about PatF? There is an attraction planned, or is it speculation? The movie isn't even out yet, what if it bombs?

Prior to the 90s. Attractions were planned for films long before they opened. Sleeping Beauty Castle and the diorama inside opened several years before the film for example. The Little Mermaid ride was designed and ready to go long before the movie opened in theathers.

Also, so what if the film bombs? Pinnochio, Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland Fantasia, Mr.Toad, Song of The South all bombed or in the case of SOS were deemed "too controverstial" and banned from the public consiousness. Doesn't mean the rides and attractions they spawned are bad, in fact, they are actually some of the greatest attractions in the Disney pantheon (Splash Mountain, Fantasmic, Mr.Toad's wild ride, etc.)

There were plans for a great redo of the Submarine Voyage loosely based on the Atlantis the Lost Empire film that came out in 2000 and a very large sophsiticated living charecter Iguanadon from DINOSAUR but because the movies bombed we missed out on two great attractions for the parks.

Good points.
Splash Mountain and Mr. Toad's are some of my most favorite rides ever, but I've never seen the movies.

No, there is no attractions planned. I never meant to imply that. What I did want to imply is that I think Aladdin and PatF would belong in Adventureland if they were to become an attraction. PatF because it seems like most of the movie is going through a swamp encountering various characters (guess, too). PatF could also belong in Liberty Square... but is there even any room? TSI? Doubt it. I think Aladdin is pretty self-explanatory though.

And yea, I think Adventureland can be anywhere. It's not in one continent or one region, it's anywhere.

PatF belongs somewhere in LS or Frontierland, not Adventureland.

Well not just anywhere, it has to be some place exotic like Africa, South America, Tahiti, the Caribbean, etc. New Orleans is not really exotic because its mostly civilized.

How difficult/cost prohibitive would it be if they were to move the spinner to be the second half of the new Dumbo. Is that something they would even consider? Or will there be 3 spinners once the new FL opens?
