Just got home from EPCOT...Nothing new at all to report. The croc on the right side of the boat was not working, and the last screen wasn't working in the barn section before you enter the green house.
Sounds like the TTA.... it stops more now than it did with the old software. The ammount of 101s and evacs I saw over the last 2 weeks was a joke.

So they still have those same tired graphics in the last scene just before unload? That should be the first thing that gets upgraded IMO.
Agreed! That's the issue.

From what I was told all the AA's are working again, as well as the mist in the rain forest.

Other than that, not much has changed. New films were planned but got axed due to budget cuts. New boats are now on back-order, and LWTL will most likely close for two weeks in January to install them. Or it may close for a month in January, if they get new film afterall.
Sounds fine by me...Can't WAIT to see it in Dec. I need some relaxing LWTC and EPCOT, that's for sure.

Let's listen to the land we all love,
Nature's plan will shine above,
Listen to the land, listen to the land.

Actually, last year when we were there we got to The Land when the fastpasses for Soarin were for about 45-50 minutes away. Everyone rushed the FP machines, then rushed LWTL, and the queue was packed out into the center of the atrium area.

Man, I don't think I ever saw the beginning like that. Looks sooo weird.

Also, maybe some of you are right about the ending part. A look into the future would be pretty cool.......Wait I got it, Disney could set the boats up with touchscreens and show us our future using future technology that they happen to know about!!!!

:lookaroun

Oh gosh; how horrid... :dazzle:

I can see the new narration finale now: "Well, I think the meal you've prepared looks quite appetizing, don't you? So here's to the next 30,000 years Living with the Land. While no one knows for sure what we'll eat or grow, I can promise you it will be quite a meal. A meal that we'll make, and eat, together. See you at the table!"

Whats worse? LwtL already has light up geometic shapes in the finale... :lookaroun

:ROFLOL:

That ending is so atrocious. It's like the opposite of inspirational. "No one knows what the future really holds, so everything you just saw was pointless."

The ending geometrical shapes on Living with the Land look a lot like the Tomorrow's Child shapes actually. If it hadn't opened a year before SSE closed, I would think they were the same.

The sad part is: it was closed for TWO months!

Hmm... I can't remember if it's just one or two CMs who run LWTL - I can't see Disney closing LWTL simply to save that small amount of labor cost. I would imagine the greenhouse operations would have still been ongoing. Now, going with the automated spiel and cutting out a CM on every boat, that's a more significant savings that has certainly repaid itself many times over by now. Plus, sometimes you'd get a good narrator CM, and sometimes you'd get someone who'd mumble and not really try very hard.

I do think it's odd that the ride hasn't had any noticeable improvements, though, I'll have to see for myself in a few weeks.

Things that were changed...

Just returned from EPCOT and in fact there were some significant mods to the flume in which the boats travel. Between buildings on the ride, there were old, rusty gate-like structures that were probably used to hold boats if they got too close to each other. Looking at them this trip, there was definitely new concrete and new aluminum structures (sorry, no pictures). So my guess is a modified ride control system to go with the new boats.

Also the air conditioning ductwork in the barn theater was integrated into wooden structure that looks like stall dividers. Last time I was there it was just bare ductwork.

Yes, it was pretty much confirmed long ago that all the changes to LWTL would be backstage and not something that would be readily noticeable to guests.
