Last nights episode was definatlly a re-deeming one for me...defiantly put me on a great "theory path"...so let me share my ideas with you all :)

First off..the manuscript that Hurley was reading was called "the bad twin". I may be stretching a bit far here, BUT..astrology says that a "gemini" is a twin sign..and who on the island do we know is a gemini? Kate :)

The Radio broadcast..and this is where a LONG EXTENSIVE music history knoledge comes in handy (who knew all that info would be of use one day!)..

The song playing on the radio was called "Moonlight Serenade". Anybody know who wrote it?

Legendary Jazz musician Glenn Miller.

Now..anybody else know whats interesting about THAT? Read for yourself :: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Miller and Pay close attention to his "death".

Coincidence? Probobly not :)

ALSO..the radio station was "WXR?"..and last i checked..only United States branded stations start with a "W"...

So there you have it..my mind working overtime again :D

thoughts?

Great theories!
I was somewhat confused by last night episode too. I really want to watch it again.

A popular theory holds that, in the foggy weather that bedeviled the Channel on that day, Glenn Miller's plane strayed into a "safe drop" zone and was bombed out of the air by Canadian Air Force bombers disposing of bombs that went unused during an aborted bombing run on German positions.

I also think it's interesting to note the story that Locke was reading when Sawyer came in to the hatch..."An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge." It's a famous piece of American fiction by Ambrose Bierce that details a civil war soldier, who supposedly escapes a hanging only to find out that he's been dead all along.

Hmmm...

Bad Twin

There were some discussions back during season one about the possibility of Kate being a twin--I can't recall...but during the bank scenes--her character was referred to by a different name... and yes...she is a Gemini of course...

I think I also heard rumors that the Lost writers were going to publish something as a companion piece to the series... my guess is that is what BAD TWIN, the manuscript Hurley was reading, will become... with so many aspects to the show-- the show itself..the freeze frames you need to pause to see... the discussion boards and Easter Egg hunts... the podcasts... It could be a full time job for someone to keep up on all of this... I've got three kids under 6....I can't keep up with that much! But I'd read the manuscript for sure!

Interesting about

"An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge," given the theory that they are all dead .

Anyhow... I think Charlie is going over to the dark side. LOL. I actually like his character--but he's tragically flawed like Anakin Skywalker. :)

A few more interesting tidbits flowing around in my mind...

The author of the manuscripts name is "Gary Troup"..which is an anagram for "Purgatory"..

The clock that counts down at the end of the promo for next week...ISNT the same counter in OUR hatch...perhaps a new hatch is found??

They just did a casting call for twins for lost..muahaha!!

Ok..and here's my REALLY far fetched theroy of..WHAT TIME PERIOD ARE THEY IN..

Supporting my "time paradox" theory..i think they are in fact in the WWII era. Heres why..aside from the music being heard..does anybody else recall where hurly first heard the numbers? Thats right..from a mental patient. And where did HE hear them? While stations in the south pacific..DURING WORLD WAR II..makes perfect sence..he heard the #s being transmitted from the now time-travelled survivors.

Thoughts?

Ok...amazing episode..and heres my thoughts::

Henry gale is the uncle in wizard of oz and sawyer's name for the island other "zeke" is the name of the cowardly lion in the film. And the hot air balloon reference is also very "oz-esq"

Heres some images for ya ;)

Maybe the countdown starts the giant magnet which..supporting my time travel theory..could start some machine that draws people to crash on the island :)

And our new "survivor" is a bit too clean shaven to be abandoned on the island for 4 months, and nice shoes eh??

Thoughts??

and yes..that was kates dad :)

I though it was interesting that they were Egyptian symbols...or they look like Egyptian symbols...

I wonder if the French woman isn't an "other" herself...she uses an interesting line when she's talking to Sayid..."[I have] something that will help you"...how does a trapped man "help" Sayid? Seemed like strange word choice....

And the dude that was captured is an "other", I think Sayid is right, you would remember everything about burying someone you loved...you would be more distraught...the man wanted to make conversation....(he mentions a cave and a wife...weren't there two people found dead in the cave the survivors found last season, the one they moved to and we've never really seen again)...

My question is, as we go back to the countdown thing....will Locke tell everyone else what happened when he didn't punch in the numbers on time?

It's funny how people become "outcasts" on the island...Sayid and Charlie so far...I thought it was interesting that last nights episode ended with a convo among the two of them...

I agree that the french chick is an other....seems all too weird that shes survived alone for this long..

ALSO...forgot to mention this theory from a while ago..

HOW COOOL would it be to find out Kate's REAL fathers name is Sawyer :) Think about it

One theory is that for the finale of the show, they want the finale scene to be the survivors on the beach as they watch their plane crash into the ocean. A time paradox.^

Last night episode was awesome!! I have loved this show from day one, but each week, I love it more and more.

I was thinking the same thing last night...wondering if Locke would tell everyone else about the counter.

I think that guy is a "other" too. Did you see the way he looked at Sayid when Jack got him (Sayid) out and was closing the door? Not to mention the things objr said about the burying his wife, etc...

I hate when they make us wait two weeks for another episode.
