Thanks for the shot of the shark!! I would have totally missed that. I have to admit that I watched the second episode with my eyes closed or forwarded during the scenes out on the water with the shark. I have a shark phobia and it was all I could do not to run screaming out of the room when the shark first rammed their raft!!

Thanks for the shark pic, I missed that part too and heard about it this morning. It's so hard to try and focus on all that is going on. You are trying to listen, watch and in the process, things are missed. I need to tape it while I am watching it and then go back and watch again :D

The island has driven many to the point of insanity... could she share the chocolate?

Find out next Wednesday.

So, anyone have any theories as to why that girl from Flight 815 was somehow captured by the others?

Note: I may not be able to see it all. I'm watching the start of the NHL season. *Go Leafs Go*

I have a feeling these "others" are not THE "others"

strange indeed.

Anna Lucia is now a mole for "the others"? strange. and Jin?! HE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH!? (or so the promo for next week would lead me to believe). And the researchers from the University of Michigan could potentially be the demise of all on the island?!!! And Hurley found the food!?!!!? (oh wait. kinda saw that one coming.)

Yeah...I'm thinking they are the people from the other section of the plane....

The "others" (that kidnapped Walt) could be the University of Michigan people...

Also, they mentioned other "stations"....which I thought was interesting.

Was it me, or did the orientation film skip (seemingly a part of it cut) towards the end?

I hate to be a jerk...

But I missed last night's episode due to a late class, anybody care to give me a brief paragraph summary?

Thanks.

But wouldn't they be excited to see people from the rest of the plane? or do you think that those from the tail section have already gone through the whole 'lord ofthe flies' thing?

I was watching the Leafs-Sens game, so I didn't have a chance to flip to ABC last night (willingly  ), so I'd also appreciate a summary of last night's episode.

Well it stands to reason that maybe they have been going through similar experiences as the other forty...maybe they've even been attacked by "the others"....also, maybe their little society on the island has been a bit more unstable...maybe there have been more problematic people there...maybe they've even started to get "sick"...

What I don't understand is why they faked having the chick prisoner just to get information? That seems a bit silly...maybe they've had similar encounters with others?

And where is Desmond running to?

Now we have French Woman on the loose AND Desmond, plus two different groups of people on opposite sides of the island (maybe)....and then the "others"....

What happens when they don't put the code in?

Could this all just be one big psychology experiment?

And did the french chick know that there are 'the others', and "THE others", and the big group of 40, and Desmond? This island is getting a bit crowded for everyone to NOT notice the other groups of people....

Well we don't know how big the island is....or if it's even an island....plus the whole "security system" keeps people from going too deep into the jungle....

As these things start to develop...it is clear that there is room to expand this story into many seasons...I wasn't too convinced they could work with the story for too long...last season....

Who is the mysterious financer anyway...they showed him in the orientation film...he seemed very strange...

Am I the only one that didn’t want Jack to push the button? I really wanted to see what would happen.

But the button must do something though, because when Walt appeared to Shannon in the first episode he was saying "The button is bad. Don't push the button." So, I wanted to see what would happen if he didn’t push the button. But at the same time I was yelling out, “Push the button!!!” I swear I’d be a psychologist’s dream!! :p

Thank you very much for the links, objr... some very interesting info, indeed.

I love the "Entertainment Weekly" recap. This part in particular seemed odd ;). This is what Desmond's orientation video apparently said:

Narrator: Dr. Marvin Candle. The Dharma Initiative: Created in 1970 by two doctoral candidates at Michigan. A large-scale communo-research compound where scientists study — meteorology psych parapsych zoo POLAR BEAR electro-magnetism large building something Danish huh? 540 days island has E-M fluctuations INCIDENT???? every 108 minutes, the button must be pushed OR EPCOT GETS IT do not attempt to use the computer for anything else, you know, internet p*rn, whatever. the Degroots, Alvar Hanso. wow best movie ever.

(''We're gonna need to watch that again.'' Oh, shut it, Locke.)

 I've bookmarked that site.
