LIVING WITH THE LAND to Re-Open Early?

As much as I hate Stitch, I think I'm beginning to hate Stitch jokes even more.

They're about as funny as "That's what she said jokes" at this point.

As a former LWTL CM all my former colleagues tell me the new boats have arrived. They must have just gotten everything up and running faster than they anticipated. The biggest issues I heard were the turns and the boats getting stuck as they were a touch wider. The load gates were probably an easy fix. I'll have to check to see if they updated the OG yet.

Replacing those boats would seem like an awful big expense for a ride that doesn't generate much revenue (figuratively). I'm guessing they just dusted, maybe changed some light bulbs. Maybe replaced lights with LED, like over at the HUGE TTA refurb.

But ya gotta remember, these boats are over 25 years old. New boats do exist, they've just been having problems with them. I know some of the old boats were destroyed, but I heard the plan was to put the remaining ones back in the flume, reopen for the holiday season, and then close down again in January to finish everything up. Whether that's the current situation or not has yet to be seen.

As for the rest of the ride, the show-scenes have been refurbished, A.A.s fixed. I was told that the rainforest scene was being 21st Century-rized, but it was left at that. So I'm not sure if that's the opening rainforest scene, or the large scene with the waterfall. New movies were also mentioned for inside the barn, and do seem very likely.

I'm very happy to hear that LwtL is reopening early. Whether or not the new boats have arrived, it's great to hear that the show scenes have been improved through AA work and possibly new clips in the Barn Theater. This attraction is definitely one of Epcot's best and it's great to have it back.

I find this really interesting because I was talking with one of my coworkers at The Seas who also occasionally works at The Land and he said that the new boats haven't even been built yet. This leads me to believe that they have either (1) decided not to go with the new boats or (2) this was just a prefurb for a later refurb in which they will add the new boats. My coworker did mention something about the AA gators in the rainforest scene getting fixed.

prefurb! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

I actually hate Stitch jokes more than Stitch! Anyways, back on topic...

I'm glad they're reopening early for my parents sake... they're taking my mom's sister and her husband for the first time and they were a little disappointed when they found out this ride was down. I guess they really like it!?!

I agree completely. It's like everyone wants to be a comedic one up-man. The jokes were okay to begin, but now that they've essentially been recycled thousands of times, they have lost any comedic value and are just annoying. It's especially annoying when you have 10 straight posts or so of people trying to 'best' one another with their variation of a dumb Stitch joke.

Then again, I really hate a lot of the dumb internet sayings ("thread win" comes to mind as one that is especially abrasive. How the hell do you 'win' a thread? Most discussions are inherently subjective. Should we just cease conversation when someone is declared 'winner'?) and intentionally misspelling words or omitting for the sake of being hip ("haz", "WANT", etc.). I really don't understand why people can't just converse online the same way they would in person. Although, maybe that is how kids these days are conversing in person. It may seem cool to converse with like age people using such slang, but I would hazard a bet that most people over the age of 30 think you sound like an idiot (heck, I'm under the age of 30, and I think people sound like idiots when they post in such a manner).

anyones else think that the large load/unload wall mural is going to be totally different? The way that ride has been walled off and sealed from top to bottom, I just have a feeling when it reopens we may get a surprise there with a new mural behind the boats.

I was very excited to hear this news, as I will be able to ride it in a few weeks. I'm not really sure what it is about this ride that I love so much - but I do.

The last set of photos, after going back into the dark after the greenhouses - I think the little kid with the blueberries is adorable.

It's weird how we all focus on certain aspects...

We may not agree on IASW, but I definitely agree with you about the Stitch jokes ( and Hannah Montana ).

I'm 32 years old and I couldn't agree more. And my biggest concern is if you can't (or don't learn to) use proper grammar now what will happen when you are required to for a job later on in life.
