Picture taking was not allowed during the Tenement Museum tour. In fact, we were asked to shut off all phones entirely.

All I can is - it was amazing. We had a fabulous guide, and she did a wonderful job of personalizing the stories. I felt connected to all three families represented during the “Under One Roof” tour.

After the tour, following the spot-on advice of a friend, we hopped on the right subway and made it back to the hotel in no time.

Side note here - when I see someone on the subway with their eyes closed and lips moving, I assume one of two things. Either they are praying, or they are answering the voices in their head. I always hope for the former, but ....

We scored big time on the room location. I had paid for City View this time, but again, we got the Times Square View. Exact same room location as in December, but this time on the top floor. 65th floor, Baby!

Our pre-anniversary dinner dinner was at Patsy’s Italian Restaurant, literally two blocks away from the hotel. This is good, as we were both just about done.

No bread for me. Mike managed to eat most of it.

Based on online reviews, I was pretty sure Mike was getting the stuffed calamari.
Roast chicken Siciliano for me.

Mike ordered the chopped salad.

I was going to have a few bites of his, until I saw how well integrated the tomatoes were.
So here is the first of at least three or four Caesar salads (no croutons) for me this week.

Mike says the stuffed calamari was “gorgeous”.
Not a lot of food there though.

No worries, he ate 2/3 of my chicken and the potato croquette. I ate all of the green beans though.

This was sooooo good, but I’d had to take something for my hip just before dinner, and my head was a bit fuzzy and my appetite gone. 🙁

And finally, dessert.
Cannoli cake. I had half a forkful. It was very good.

Housekeeping has just delivered two blankies for me, Mike is watching basketball (on ESPN of course) and we are laying in bed with the curtains wide open, admiring the awesome view.

We had a really great day today. Tomorrow's weather is super iffy. No definite plans. If it does indeed rain all afternoon as forecast, we might just go to a show or something.

At some point, we’d like to check out the Intrepid, and Central Park is a must.

It's beautiful to look at in pictures, but I wouldn't be able to have the curtains open if I was staying in that room. My heart speeds up just from the pictures! Incredible view though, if you don't mind heights!!

Welcome to New York: we predict the weather but we don't actually forecast it.
Well, right now I’m in line for the washroom at CVS.
Came in looking for Ozonol, but you guys don’t carry it anymore either.

Next up, a ride through the Park.
We sprung for the 50 minute long ride this time. Our driver John was very informative.

I decided to just enjoy the ride and the narrative, and didn’t take pics. We had just walked most of that same route anyway.

And yes, I am also afraid of horses. They’re just big dogs - with bigger teeth, and the ability to hoof ya.

Next up - the Plaza. Time to use the potty, and purchase a few things.

I got another I Slept at the Plaza nightie, a pack of hair scrunchies (the humidity here makes my hair huge!), and an oil diffuser/wick thing, in my favourite accent colour.

Headed back up to the room to get some Apple juice.

Next up, the Magnolia Bakery at Rockefeller Centre. Later, peeps.

It’s raining. Started moments before we were headed out to Rockefeller Centre. Did that stop us? No, it did not. It did, however, stop me from taking any pics on the way.

We eventually found Magnolia Bakery. It’s a pretty busy place.

This is what we came for.

I only had two spoonfuls, and maybe I licked the lid. Mike also had a brownie, but he scarfed it down before I could get a pic.
He likes brownies.

We went to the NBC store. Didn’t buy this, but thought it was pretty funny.

It doesn’t quite look big enough for Son #1, so I’m giving it to Ski.

Son #1 gets these.

And I’m keeping the bag for me.

Back at the hotel now, and contemplating a nap before our dinner tonight.

My health app says we’re at 12,000+ steps, and exactly 9km. How many more we end up adding is totally dependent on the weather tonight.
