Trip Report LIVE-ish TR: The One With Holiday Cheer šŸŽ…...and Plantar Fasciitis

Hey there!

Well at long last, the day has come - in a few short hours, weā€™re heading down to WDW šŸ‘

I am doing this on my phone and I canā€™t get GIFs to work unless Iā€™m on my Mac, so alas, for now it shall be texts and emoji šŸ‘

If we havenā€™t met, Hi šŸ‘‹, Iā€™m Diana, a 39-year old marketing consultant. Iā€™m flying from Buffalo to Orlando with my crew:

Todd (45) - My awesome husband
Brandon (15) - My ā€œI hope heā€™s not too cool to geek out nowā€ stepson (he hasnā€™t been to WDW in 3 years, so weā€™re nervous heā€™ll be all teenager-y šŸ¤£)
B (1.999) - Sheā€™s turning two the first week of January, so I canā€™t quite say 2 yet! Also, I shared Todd and Brandonā€™s names and pictures here almost 6 years ago so Iā€™m rolling with their names. Iā€™m trying to give my daughter a little privacy though ā¤ļø

We are staying at CBR (Pirate room) with the dining plan. For the full itinerary, check out my PTR .

We are getting up at 2:45AM for a 5:30 flight. Wish us luck šŸ¤£

I did splurge today and book a Minnie Van from the airport. I think my daughter might sleep, and after our luggage being ā€œlostā€ for 8+ hours last year, I like the thought of picking up our bags and leaving them at bell services so we arent at the mercy of DME.

I am calling this ā€œlive-ishā€ because Iā€™ve really enjoyed the live TRs from folks lately, and I thought that live might capture some holiday vibes. But, theyā€™ll be sporadic when I have some downtime. Iā€™ll do full write ups here when I get home (and before I go back to work on 12/30 so I donā€™t drag this out like my wedding TR! šŸ¤£).

Well done on your early RotR BG !!!

B is adorable and looks like she is the perfect age to experience the rides and characters. I am guessing she is more advanced than many two year olds.

Following along and loving your report. You daughter is adorable and your teenage son seems to be doing okay with Disney:)
I feel your pain, PF, that is. I have it too. I had to use a wheelchair one time - not fun but could not walk at all. I do the massage from the bottom of the foot at the heel up to the toes. That seems to help some. I also get a cortisone shot in the foot about 2 weeks before our trip. I hope all goes well. HOnestly, try the foot massage. Not up and down, but only from the heel to the toes with firm pressure. It really helps me. :)

Saviā€™s workshop was AMAZING. I canā€™t wait to share pictures and talk about it in my full TR. Brandon and Todd are building a droid now. Just wrapped up dinner at Hollywood & Vine, where we met Santa Goofy šŸ˜

Aw thanks šŸ˜Š She is way ahead in some areas, but is behind on speech of all things! Her speech therapist says that some kids surge ahead in some areas and leave others behind. I worry, but I know with her speech therapy sheā€™ll get where she needs to be ā¤ļø

Weā€™re getting the wheelchair tomorrow. Today was rough šŸ˜ž Thank you for the compliments on my kids ā¤ļøMy stepson is 15, and his first WDW trip was for our wedding when he was 10. Thankfully, he isnā€™t ā€œtoo coolā€ for it yet, and hopefully not ever!

Late to the party, but count me in!

Yay, welcome!!

Todd and Brandon went to DHS early so Todd could ride RotR, and they got BG 12 today šŸ‘ Then they did single rider for MF and came back to CBR so we could head to Disney Springs.

We just had lunch at D-Luxe burger, and the boys and B are at LEGO while I pick up some Starbucks! No pics yet, but weā€™ll be at Epcot again later!

Sorry about the foot. Everyone has a story about what helped them best. I'll tell you how I healed mine. I rolled my foot on a soup can every morning before stepping foot off the bed, and I wear Skechers from the moment I get dressed out of the shower, til just before I go to bed at night. It kinda blows, and it takes some getting used to if you are used to barefoot or socks... but that's what helped me. And even though mine is healed now... I still wear my shoes all day long.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Sorry, Guys!

Last night, we went back to Epcot and had an AMAZING dinner at Biergarten ā¤ļø

Then, we went to see Figment again for B.

We rode too, lol. We stopped for this pic along the way:

I wanted to see the LwtL decorations, and the boys obliged. B loved it too!

TT was down, so Brandon and I rode Soarin with our anytime FP. Middle section so no leaning tower of Eiffel! B was running low by this point so we grabbed some cookies and hopped on the Skyliner.

We spent the morning at AK and our bus just arrived. Iā€™ll update as soon as I can! I love Brandonā€™s droid so much, I made an appointment to make my own later šŸ¤£ So, back to DHS tonight.

Thanks for the tip! I tried a lacrosse ball for while, but that did nothing. Maybe Iā€™ll switch it up. I havenā€™t gotten the wheelchair though, much to my husbandā€™s dismay. I just donā€™t want to be a burden. My pain was at an 11 in DHS the other day but is back down to an 8ish most of the time, so Iā€™m sticking to it for now.

While B is napping, hereā€™s a bit from this morning at AK. It was definitely the busiest morning of our trip - I think the Christmas crowds have arrived šŸŽ„

F5592722-437D-4C73-BEEA-DA0F96FAD236.jpeg

we waited 15 minutes for a photopass picture here but the photographer was taking forever with elaborate shots of every family combination possible, so we gave up.

Argh, our in-room WIFI keeps dropping and my cell signal is terrible in here so the photos are taking forever to upload. Iā€™ll share more later!

Hey Gang - sorry for the delay! The last day and a half of our trip was pretty much a rainout, so I got very few pictures. We are home and of course are already planning our next trip šŸ¤£ We learned a lot traveling with B on this trip and are going to make changes accordingly for our next trip, though.

I will be starting up the full TR this week! Whatever you celebrate, I hope it is wonderful for all of you ā¤ļø

Rista, I also was told to wear shoes while inside, and I chose skechers too. Wearing those all day seems to help. If I try to go barefoot, the pain comes back. It is a "pain" to wear them all day though, I agree!

I suffered from PF for a long time. Low-dye taping with Leuko tape finally fixed it for me. DO NOT put the leukotape directly on your skin! It WILL pull your skin right off. Voice of experience.

So I'm confused after watching this video... and the guy puts the tape on her skin, but you said not to. If you don't put it on your skin, how do you do it then?
