I thought the trailer for Snow White looked good. As a previous poster said, it appears to have all the main elements of the original.

I know others disagree, but I love live-action versions of Disney movies.

Yes
Okay, so if the giant elephant has finished his business, maybe we can go back to discussing the actual film.

One thing I'm curious about is the role of the love interest. The prince was in the original film for an exceedingly short time.

Going from a very short film to a longer, live-action version is going to be interesting in and of itself. Characters are going to have to be expanded.
Expand what exactly in a feudal pre industrial society ?

We will try to watch it when its "free" on Disney+

Yes, we renewed our Disney+ subscription, price increase and all.

In my "Disney rationalization" mind, the annual sub cost less than one table service meal at WDW for my family ;)

Looks like most people disagree. Over 1 millions dislikes and growing on the trailer.

I do hope you enjoy the movie though. You might be one of the few that can still stand Disney live action.

I’m sure she really means it.

It’s very unlikely from her previous comments that she is a hate filled radical.

Quoting your post for absolute perfection! I see what you are doing, and I approve! 🤣

I was in a cruise ship cocktail lounge yesterday evening when someone brought up this latest Miss Zegler topic in conversation with a random group of friends who had only known each other since the second day of the cruise. I was shown her original Tweet, then nearly laughed my butt off the barstool thinking of this forum. Needless to say, based on the opinions of random lounge guests talking about this instead of our next port excursions, Disney still needs to worry about its upcoming Snow White release this March.

They sent this movie back for 15 months of reworking the last time Miss Zegler let her opinions be known to the world. What does this do this time? Maybe a 2027 release date now? 🤔

There is nothing pandering or political at all about the Snow White trailer. All of the political controversies surrounding the new Snow White movie are due to circumstances surrounding the cast and creatives. All of the discourse the past few years about the movie have revolved around:

1. Peter Dinklage saying the dwarfs in the original movie are offensive and Disney changing the dwarves. This sparked a backlash from many feeling this is an example of political correctness run wild and backlash among real life dwarf actors who are upset that they now don't have a chance to act in these roles since Disney opted to create CGI abominations instead.

2. Anti-Israel/anti-zionists and progressives not wanting to support the film from Gal Gadot, who is from Israel and was in the IDF, as they feel it would be an endorsement of the attacks on Gaza.

3. Pro-Israel people not wanting to support Rachel Zegler for her support of Palestine

4. Fans upset that Zegler initially seemed somewhat criticial/dismissive of the original 1937 classic (I think her comments were blown way out of proportion)

5. Conservatives mad that Zegler wished all Trump supporters never know peace

6. Disney fans and film fans growing increasingly sick of the trend of live action remakes, feeling they are creatively bankrupt and a lazy cash grab.

Agreed. Great summary!

I don't see how the movie could possibly overcome so much pre-release negativity from so many different sides. Even if it were a masterpiece (unlikely), millions of people are dead set on hating it no matter what due to external factors.

Me either. Again, I was told of this latest Zegler Zinger in a cocktail lounge last night, by a random group of friends who aren't typical hardcore Disney fans. A few of them might have taken their grandkids or relatives to this movie, but not now.

Disney has a new problem on its hands with this movie, all over again. The one thread of continuity in the past several years of problems for this one movie seems to be.... Rachel Zegler. I can't imagine Disney will seek out a future project with her once Snow White is finally, mercifully, put into the history books and sent to the $5 DVD bin at WalMart.

I stopped reading here, wondering why in the heck we were not invited.

So sorry, but if you can book a Viking cruise, I can be found in the Torshavn Lounge (deck 2) every night around 9:30pm.

Seriously, I almost fell off my barstool last night when I was handed a phone to read Miss Zegler's original and hate-filled Tweet. You couldn't make this up if you tried! 🤣 🤣 🤣

She's no more a Disney representative than any other actor who has worked for the company. Those actors include some pretty awful individuals. Would you like Disney to issue statements condemning them all?

Some of us would just like Hollywood to stop being so full of pretty awful individuals. Especially if they're going to lecture everyone else on how to be Official Good People like them. 🤔

Or, at the very least, Hollywood bosses should force all those pretty awful individuals to hide it better from their customers.

Nope. I already said she was wrong to write such things.
Everyone agrees, including Zegler, who apologized for the comments.

There’s nothing more to be gained from beating this dead horse.

Disney is under no obligation whatsoever to treat Zegler the same as any other employee. It can find that one person’s comments were a fireable offense while another’s were not.

Wow,...just read Zegler's apology. Good job Rachel!

Alright, thank goodness that mess is over with. I'm glad the runway is now clear for takeoff.

It's good for Burbank to get those petty, little, pesky PR things out of the way.

The movie should be good to go now.
I'm sure through self-reflection, she had a legitimate change of heart and issued her apology sincerely and completely on her own volition. Certainly, neither Disney's PR department nor her publicist influenced her in any shape or form. Just like she whole-heartedly changed her opinion on the original Snow White film in that completely unscripted, candid and spontaneous discussion she had with Halle Bailey. Disney certainly wasn't in damage control mode with that absolutely authentic, not-at-all pre-vetted conversation.

Do you think that the Hollywood of old was populated by angels?

No, it wasn't. Which is why I said this in the next sentence. Hollywood should force its talent who are pretty awful individuals to go back to this PR concept...

Or, at the very least, Hollywood bosses should force all those pretty awful individuals to hide it better from their customers.

Some people here would benefit from simply ignoring Zegler.

We try, but she keeps Tweeting her thoughts and opinions. 🤣

I can only imagine the sigh or relief in Burbank once this Snow White movie gets released and memory holed fast. I can also only imagine the bar tab poor Miss Zegler's agent has had to rack up in the past few years. The poor dear.
