The people put in charge of this film do not love the original and hate it so much that they are incapable of putting together a thoughtful, tasteful retelling of the story.
Who are those people? What specifically have they said to make you believe this about their intentions?

Yes
I don't understand why Disney thinks "Love" is such a bad thing. There's been countless great love stories told for centuries. Long before this mess of a movie.

Say what you want, but that's what Snow White is... a Love Story. She loves the Prince and the Dwarfs and they love her.

Thats not the plot or intent (at least from what we've heard) for this new Snow White movie. It's something about how the disenfranchised and dispossessed living outside the mainstream overcome all obstacles and overthrow the system.

Then it's not a Snow White movie.

These uncreative people want to ruin everything with their "I don't need a Man" mentalities and storylines.

But Mermaid was no less faithful to the original than those other films were, except for The Lion King. Moreover, it fully delivered on whatever nostalgia its trailer promised, right down to Jodi Benson’s cameo. Disney has never promoted any of these films as direct, frame-for-frame remakes, nor did it claim or imply any higher degree of fidelity for Mermaid than for the others.
It's not about how faithful, the point was how was it promoted. I get what you are saying that Disney never said or claimed it was shot for shot and I said the same thing. There's a difference with saying sold as. Those trailers, again, in my opinion, sell the film as a near shot for shot remake. Almost nothing in them isn't lifted directly from the original. How well would mermaid have done if mermaid focused on scuttlebutt and the other new song instead of just using scenes and songs from the original? The funny part in all this is the fact that it's a lose lose for Disney. If they sell it as a new spin, like peter pan and wendy, people get mad because you change it too much. Rehash the original, and you're lazy bums with zero creativity. Either way you are making someone mad.

That’s great, but Disney needs to be Disney again. Be creative. Come up with the next hit princess movie without milking the old ones and ruining them in only a way Disney can do
Well they have Wish this November… and an original science fiction movie in the Creator in September

But yet The Lion King is a Billion dollar movie

Yep, we're in a time period where noncreative woke people are ruining geniuses works. They don't know how to create their own stuff. They just know how to manipulate and destroy already existing ideas.

Getting jobs based on "What they are" and not on if they are the best person for the job. That is evident by the slew of failures Disney has amassed.

Precisely because I want to voice my opinion. The people put in charge of this film do not love the original and hate it so much that they are incapable of putting together a thoughtful, tasteful retelling of the story. Do I expect a film that came out in 1937 to be the same as one next year? No! But there is a difference between a tasteful remake and one done almost out of spite.
How do you know what the people in charge thought… were you in the room when it was green lit…no one knows what the plot will entail as no one has seen it yet… all that we have heard is the opinion of the original film by the actress who was hired for the lead role
