Live-Action ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’

"El Gran Magnifico"

Mr Flibble is Very Cross.
Upon further observation doesn’t Snow White appear to be rather small in those images?

Maybe there is some kind of plot twist coming. “The Magical Creatures (including one dwarf) and the other Dwarf”?

Could be a Dwarf Romeo and Juliet kinda of thing where the Magical Creatures try to keep their dwarf away from the Snow White dwarf. And well - Love conquers all.

Those Dwarfs... excuse me "Magical Creatures" are giving me strong Willow 2022 vibes. And not in a good way.

Didn’t they have the dwarves in Once, I know I remember Grumpy for sure and he was just a normal guy as far as I remember.

The funny thing is everyone was significantly different from their characters in Once but since it was a unique story it didn’t feel forced at all.

Let's forget about the Dwarfs and Snow White for a moment. There's no way in hell The Forest Animals will be as expressive and lifelike in live-action compared to the original movie. Expect them to be demoted to walking props (similar to the Elephants from The Jungle Book Remake) compared to the original where they played a major role in the story.

R.I.P to the "Whistle While You Work" and "Silly Song" musical numbers. The "Happy Working Song" from Enchantment is able to make this actually work since it's parodying Disney's older animated films done tastefully.

The original film isn’t being killed off. None of the remakes have displaced the animated classics from public consciousness. There’s nothing to mourn here.

I'm not mourning, just saying that I'm expecting at least a musical tease or snippet off some of the film's songs in the remake. Similar to Peter Pan & Wendy briefly using the "You Can Fly" Song (which also sucked).

Ok. Back to my original post and my original point (which all of the emphasizing of the definition supports) the phrase "Magical Creatures" is demeaning. So thank you for helping to enforce that.

This is a very strange assertion given that you yourself have used “creatures” to describe human beings in non-pejorative terms, as a quick word search of your posts reveals.

I understand not liking the leaked pictures and other information that has come to light, but the desire to hate everything about this project has reached an absurd and hyperbolic fever pitch.

Your search of my posts is obviously faulty. I have not and do not demean though I have referred to some people as non-creatives. your quick word search must really have been quick, and you missed. As for hate, wellll you are way off on that. I simply call low quality what it is, thus far the products have not been to the expected quality. Expecting quality from Disney should not be a shock.
We are done, have a great day.

No, it isn’t:
With all that said, humans are interactive and social creatures that need to get out, do things and live not just exist.
I’m not trying to catch anyone out, merely suggesting that people are letting their general dislike of the project lead them into kneejerk condemnations of things that they would otherwise find unobjectionable.

Yes, you missed. Thank you for showing my use of the word "creatures" in a positive context not demeaning in any way. Definitely did not catch anyone out! People can read. As used in the projected movie title it is demeaning. Bye.

It isn’t being used in the title of the movie. We don’t even know if it’s being used in the script.

Your argument seemed to be that the word “creature” itself was the problem, whereas you now appear to be saying that the issue lies in placing “magical” before it.

I maintain that we wouldn’t even be having this discussion if the general feeling surrounding this remake were positive. At any rate, I agree there’s nothing to be gained by continuing.

They just throw millions at this thing and think families will be dying to spend $60 to take the family to a retelling of a film that came out 90 years ago?

How many times have they rebooted Spider-Man in the last 20? Batman?

Spider-Man and Batman were rebooted 3 times. One less than Snow white if you count this new one. If you count all major releases, we have the original animated, snow white and the huntsman, mirror mirror and now this.
Thank you for making my point, so the previous argument falls flat - even flatter because those other versions were not Disney, and because 20 years is a lot shorter than 90.
And? Those are proven IP's with a massive fanbase. Snow White is the exact opposite.

Lots of kids who grew up watching BatB, Aladdin, TLK, now have young kids of their own. There is a built in audience for those films. Snow White doesn't have that.
I hope you’re kidding.
