The trophy should have sonics teeth on it. As a reminder of what could have been...
Hear me out: maybe those “magical creatures” for the earlier leaked photo are still in the film, but take on the appearance of dwarfs in certain circumstances? It still doesn’t account for how a multiethnic, gender (and height) diverse group looks like a homogenous group of garden gnomes.
This seems like the likeliest explanation I’ve seen so far:
The live-action Snow White has reportedly been delayed to March 21, 2025.

Disney Delays ‘Snow White’ and ‘Elio’ a Year, Removes Jonathan Majors’ ‘Magazine Dreams’ From Calendar
Disney's Bob Iger and other Hollywood CEOs told SAG-AFTRA earlier this week that the deadline to salvage their 2024 theatrical slates is all but upon them.www.hollywoodreporter.com
I asked in another thread but maybe this one is more appropriate. Did Disney make an official statement that they were not going to have dwarfs? I thought I read something but I can’t find anything from Disney.

Disney responds to Peter Dinklage's criticism of Snow White remake
Actor Peter Dinklage called a live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs "backwards".www.bbc.com
I have mixed feelings on them going with a CGI-gnome like design for the dwarves. On one hand, it robs dwarf actors of an acting opportunity. On the other hand, it makes it blatant that these are fantasy-like creatures not to be confused with humans with actual dwarfism, and that distinction might help prevent the film from perpetuating stereotypes about real-life dwarves.

That’s the million dollar question right now, as far as I know they didn’t say anything like that specifically, but when the leaked photo of the costumes appeared I think we all “thought” we had the answer… only to be completely blindsided by todays photo. The statement there said they were going to avoid reinforcing stereotypes, were taking a different approach with these seven characters and were consulting with members of the dwarfism community.
Did Disney follow up with any statement that the seven characters would not be dwarfs as opposed to not being the type of dwarfs portrayed in the animated version?

The likeliest explanations are 1) the dwarfs have two appearances (both the baristas walking in the field, and the Garden Gnome version we saw today), or 2) a fundamental change has happened during the postproduction phase. That’s the million dollar question right now, as far as I know they didn’t say anything like that specifically, but when the leaked photo of the costumes appeared I think we all “thought” we had the answer… only to be completely blindsided by todays photo.
There were definitely articles written that referenced the change to magical creatures, I just don’t know if that phrase came from Disney or the authors of the articles.I thought it was some official company release that mentioned them being "magical creatures" - or did we just make that up on here? I ask because I felt like they were specifically trying to distance themselves from the idea of "dwarfs" and being just more generic fairy tale folk. But the new picture suggests they are going back to clear cut dwarfs as characters and potentially including the defining traits from the the classic film going along with the names.
