Here it is, and it looks amazing! Huge improvement, it makes the room seem bigger as well. They also added a lot of new sea creatures in the first half of the ride.

The colors really pop!

You're right; using UV paint and lights to cut down on visible lighting helps make the corners and ceiling of the show rooms much darker, which really helps the look of the ride.

Can anyone spot other changes?

Kiss the Girl Ariel has different hair I think.

The UV light in UtS looks much better. Hopefully both versions will get the revised ending too at some point.

Wow yes now this is how it should be...thats the Disney style thats lacking. I hope we get this, someday, I know what happens though the budget always seems to get axed come time, or postponed till canceled all together.

Lots of static figures in the descent phase... at the 'part of that world..' scene, at the projection on the ceiling scene, leading into the under the sea room.

In the 'part of that world..' scene.. I had not seen sebastian in the glass lens effect before either.. but the prop was there before

It LOOKS like they may have cut back on the # of fish mobiles in the under the sea

The animation when ariel gets her legs back is different from the original and is what is in MK. In the original she has this great glow behind her and her hair.. it's much more subtle now..

Ariel's hair is now string hair in Kiss the Girl...

The ride is also SLOWED DOWN compared to earlier videos. Earlier ride throughs were about 5:30 long.. this one is almost 6mins.

Is there something wrong with the burning/exploding Ursula plywood prop, or have they changed the lighting?

Mermaid reopened today at DCA with blacklight effects and new hair for Ariel in the "Kiss the Girl" scene

Honestly it's such an improvement.

Additionally, I think these changes do make a helpful difference. The ride is still conceptually flawed, but this definitely improves the execution. The extra fish floating around all over are an improvement over negative space. I'll be very excited to see the new take on the final 3rd of the attraction if and when that comes to be.

It appears that, in addition to Ariel now having "real" hair in "Kiss the Girl", it seems that Eric does as well. That seems to have been carried over to the Wedding Finale as well, unless I'm seeing things incorrectly.

Ursula also seems to look more "wet" than she used to, like "Part of Your World" Ariel's hair.

I'm interested to see if there's anything else new hidden in here.

It's an Omnimover -- doesn't it move at the same speed the entire ride? If the ride is longer, wouldn't that mean that all the vehicles are moving more slowly?

Yes, that is the function of Creep Mode. Often it is used when a guest needs extra time loading or unloading. As a result of the omnimover, all the vehicles are slowed.

EDIT: To clarify, the ride can be slowed on command. It's better show to keep the ride moving, if slower, than to stop it fully (unless it is needed).
