Rumor Lion King Flume Ride being considered for Animal Kingdom

Why are people so concerned with the climate in Paris? We have plenty of water rides in the UK, and that is colder/wetter than Paris. As far as I am concerned, this will be a must visit attraction, it will do it's job in attracting more people to the resort.
If the weather gets so bad that they would need to shut it down, which would be 3/4 weeks maximum a year, who cares? It will likely save Disney money given it will attract big numbers throughout the year, and save a bit of money on operating costs for a few weeks over a 12 month period.

This needs to come to Animal Kingdom in some variation though, and in a reasonable timeframe as well. Always surprised there was no flume ride in the park.

AK has that downsized shortened clone of Grizzly River Run (Kali River Rapids), doesn't need a flume ride IMO.

Kali came first. So Grizzly is an improved lengthened clone of Kali River Rapids.
Thank you for this. I wasn't sure and was too lazy to look it up but I was thinking that kali came first. But they really are two very different rides. Grizzly River run is clearly Superior of the two. Much smaller rafts. But they get bounced around much more. The rafts on kali are too big and they just cut through the rapids.

I still say it wouldn't kill them though to put an A couple of wildlife audio animatronics on grizzly River run. Something simple... A bald eagle on a tree branch. And maybe a bear cub playing near the water edge with the sound hints of an protective mother nearby.

I don't think we're at a point where we can start getting picky about what ride system goes into AK. Just give it rides.

Plus if some parks are allowed to have multiple omnimovers, multiple boat rides, etc, why not multiple water rides? Especially when it's two very different kinds of water rides that offer two very different ride experiences?

I think this flume isn't coming to Animal Kingdom because it would somewhat undercut Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Maybe, in retrospect, it would have been better to knock Splash Mountain to the ground and replace it with a completely different type of ride, give Tiana her own attraction in Fantasyland, and then open a Lion King flume in Animal Kingdom.
