Wow just saw the pictures of the fountains of nations stage all decked out with lit Christmas trees and garlands etc. Im very impressed. Ok its not LOW and a choir is still not an aqeduate replacement but at least they are decorating!!

I thought the decorations looked nice too on the FW stage, but yeah, no replacement for the LoW . . . maybe the tree lights will "twinkle" in unisen with the fountains after dark?? I highly doubt it, but you never know??

Bah humbug - I find it a positive change for FW at Christmas. Yes, that's me. :lookaroun

I hope so as well. With the Storytellers now a main focus, perhaps more wreaths or garland OR a certain train set at AA would appear. ;)
Eh, it's nice, but I would rather hear the sounds of EPCOT when I am there. :D

They should and did do that anyway.

They are letting in some really negative comments on this blog now. I can't believe mine, or the one after mine got through. Kudos to the mod over there.

I already hear the sound of EPCOT everyday so far.

I need my yearly dose of The Living Strings, Percy Faith and Richard Clayderman (among the artists)! :sohappy::D

Wait, the trees are to now dance in unison? With the LoW BGM? :lookaroun

Well, I hear it everyday, too, but hearing it live is 100% better. ;)

And no, not dance, but twinkle.

I was just watching the '09 planning video with my parents (they're reminiscing about their trip) and they clicked on "Special times at the World" (or whatever that section is called on the DVD). When they were showing Christmas at the "World" they clearly showed the LOW twice if not more. I say we sue 'em for false advertising. Clearly there are no LOW in 2009!!!:fork:

Umm yeah bout that if TDO productions office has a half decent lawyer, which I'm sure that have a more than half decent one, the DVD has a notice on it somewhere that these rides and attractions are not guarnteed to be open or avaliable to park guests or something along those line...I'll put $ on it...

I wonder how many complaints they've gotten over this already- would be fun to know the count.

Guest Relations said they've gotten moderate complaints about no lights of winter this year and assured me the money is going to new entertainment this year, even after I said the new stage thing won't cut it. I would love to hope something else will "pop up", she just kept smiling when I said there was nothing new on the PR, but she said I would be pleasently pleased. She also happened to mention they've gotten a hefty amount of complaints that epcot doesn't offer any parade. Also noticed all the techies working on the lights around WS originally used for ToN, but it means nothing.

All the lights were up, but off, from Canada to Germany. Some which are normally hidden, did they come up for illuminations?? The techies were turning on several of them today, and were working a lot in germanys. Going to bed now... Night!

Torches or Synchrolights?

If it's the Torches, I think it would be just for maint. I think. :lookaroun

If it's the synchs, they might be testing for the PoE and/or the NYE Tag. :)

I presumed the poster meant the nulti-color area lighting on the speaker poles that had been used during Tapestry... This would be separate from the the large Sychrolights on the rooftops, or the pop-up light poles for Illuminations (like the ones in Canada, France, Japan and Italy)

Ah, possibly. Those haven't been used since, correct?

Curious.
