Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It is a big issue. Another issue is how long it takes to build new attractions. Epic Universe is going to built in the same amount of time it's taken Tron to me built.
And I hope Disney notices this because I can tell you their customer base is

All problems Disney has as of late have been ones they’ve created themselves. You can’t blame Covid for their stupidity, lack of foresight, and not making vacationing to the parks an enjoyable experience rather than more stressful and frustrating than ever before

Also their 50th celebration is a completely joke and should be embarrassing to them along with their website and app designs and their usability

Considering they already don't allow re-rides, I'm not sure there's any reason to create tiers.
This price increase would mean that ILL goes away. The tiering would ensure that each guest who pays for Genie+ would at least be able to ride one Tier 1 attraction; which would set a significantly higher GSAT baseline.

Not advocating for this, just something I think they could do.

Because they would probably put Rat, Frozen, GOTG and Test Track in one tier and you'd only be able to reserve on of them a day. That would suck.

Right, that's one of the reasons I think it's a bad idea.

Since you already can't re-ride, and presumably the goal would be to have less people purchasing Genie+, creating tiers seems like it would devalue the product rather than enhance it.

Ah, that makes more sense if you eliminated ILL. Still don't think it's a great idea (I don't think people would be happy paying $40 and only being able to ride one headliner without waiting in a long line), but I also don't see them dumping ILL.

Tiers were created due to lack of attractions at each park so all stemming from that issue

If I am paying extra I should be able to get multiple tip tier rides anyway regardless if they are explicit tiers or not

The issue currently is that it is hard to get more than one LL at Epcot for rides that it really benefits doing so

I know I wouldn't. I am open to paying extra for a superior experience, but only getting one headliner is not a superior experienice

Not saying I definitely should get on all of them but if I pay $40/person a day, I better get on most of them

Crazy to me that they won't let go of the ILL right now. If they included every single attraction in Genie+, I think a lot of issues would go away.

Personally I think going the other way and just having ILL - small number of attractions, can buy individually or as a bundle would be better

BUT having both is definitely the worst option and confuses things. Either have one or the other, not both

Well, right now you're getting none. This would guarantee you get at least one and then can ride everything else with ease. Again, not advocating for it, but it would be a much better experience.

With the $15 Genie you will get one at 7am - issue is getting a second

Maybe issue is what we are deeming "Top Tier" - if you just mean that the ones that are ILL now are included but limited to one, ok - I was looking more at the "in demand" rides currently part of G+ (so Frozen, Rat, TT, etc)

Right now we're in a bit of a caveat period since 4 ILLs are included in Genie+. But come a few months, 8 of the top attractions will be unreservable via Genie+.

What I was alluding to is that say your park is Magic Kingdom. $29 or $49 or whatever it is would basically guarantee you a spot on either 7DMT or TRON. And then for the rest of the day, you could basically get anything you wanted with little friction.

Basically turn the ILL's into Tier 1s and let guests have 1 per day.

Again, I think there are better ways, but I do think that would be significantly better than the current.

Ah, ok - so basically just calling the ILLs Tier 1 and you get one included vs a separate charge.

I can see that

I know people who upgraded from moderate to deluxe for just this reason.
These type of perks come and go but enjoyable night EMHs sweetened our decision to buy DVC. It’s almost the equivalent of buying after hours or party tickets to us.

We also like having easy access to Early Entry from park resorts, and makes midday breaks easier too, so we can rope drop and park close.

I do think ILLs are a significant inventory problem for Genie+ but including them in Genie+ also puts more demand on it. A price increase would take care of that. ILL on top of another product are simply not compatible. They have to go one or the other as you suggested.

I like the idea of one Tier 1 included in a more expensive combo Genie package.

Like others I don’t like the idea of either a reeeally expensive Express Pass or allll standby. I’ve wondered about WDW doing something like offering 2 packages, say Fantasy and Adventurer (ILLs would be included and no longer separate). Nobody gets the ability to run the whole park for a price. You can buy one or the other for $20/$25 and it splits the park’s options in half.

I know there have been a lot of negative reviews on G+ on this forum, and I definitely do not like what I have read about the system (have not visited since 2019). But, here's a positive review from a friend who was there last week:

"The Guardians of the Galaxy ride was awesome. We had no problem joining the virtual queue at 7:00 am on the day we were going to epcot. We had paid the $15 for the new Genie Plus option and it worked really well for our group. We were able to get passes for the Remy ride, Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space, and Spaceship Earth. We paid for the Lightning Lane pass for 7D at Magic Kingdom ($12/person) and had the Genie plus option also. Throughout the day, we were able to get 6 genie passes (or whatever you call them!)"

Just another data point for consideration in the discussion...
