The problem is still executives think raising the price and having less people using this will solve the problem and guests will be happier.

They have no idea obviously what fire they are continuing to pour gas on with their most loyal guests I’m afraid because they just don’t get it

A WDW vacation should not be this complicated, stressful, and frustrating all of which I just experienced more so than ever before. It gives me great pause thinking about when I want to come back in it’s current form and as an AP holder and DVC member I have NEVER felt that way before
I agree 100 percent a vacation should be fun you should not have to wake up at 7 am to make your first selection and so forth.

Lets face it, WDW blows right now.............It's more crowded, dirty and more expensive than its ever been while at the same time you get less and less for your dollar because they cut back all their perks

They've cheaped out, put the almighty $ ahead of the customer

I mean think of everything they've gotten rid of just to save a buck that affects your visit
- Citizens of Hollywood
- Streetmosphere
- GF Orchestra
- free FP
- free Magic Bands
- Magical Express
- free parking at resorts
- EMH
- shorter park hours

Thats why i adopted my avatar

Yeah I would think more people used FP+ and it was a much better experience
While it is true they also didn't take 2 rides per park out of inventory like they do now.

That’s a really bad idea too and even dangerous. Everyone is running to their first attraction on their phones now I can’t imagine then.
I don't know what the answer is. I just that it feels like the only fix for that is acceptable for most of you is to go back to FP+.

The issue is excess demand though. If 10% of guests were purchasing it as opposed to the current 33%, the Genie+ experience would be even better than the OG MaxPass experience. You'd be able to reserve attractions all day long.
They better start paying attention to WHY Genie+ is in such high demand. We bought it on our last two trips because it was the only way to avoid standing in lines, not because we liked any aspect of it.

Genie+ was pretty much a disaster on our last trip (with the entire family), along with park reservations and rides being down. So we bought Genie+, then we got home and convinced some would-be first time visitors not to go to WDW until they fix that mess. We're currently planning a Royal Caribbean cruise for next year's family trip. And we're the ones who buy the Boo Bash tickets, dessert parties, polar patios, etc. Maybe Disney doesn't care about losing us as customers. I guess we'll find out.

Sounds like 2023, and a lot.

Assume these numbers are correct.

Meaning today a third of guests are using G+ and that to work well it should only be 10% of guests using G+. That means they need to reduce the quantity sold by two thirds. They need to raise the price high enough to convince 66% of people currently buying G+ to no longer purchase it.

Just tripling the price so that the total dollars sold is exactly the same, but only needs a third the sales to get there isn't likely to be enough to drive the demand down to only a third of current.

It needs to be so high that the perception changes that it's not a "must have".

Or, we're back to just capping sales once it hits capacity where it still works. That's how VIP tours work and why they're "sold out" for dates.

It also means to work, 90% of guests need to not use it and be in stand by. So, the stand by experience better get a little better too. Lots and lots and LOTS of people posting in this thread need to be priced out for it to work for those still getting it.

They had zero intention of only having 10% of customers using it. This was too large of a rollout and pushed too hard by Disney to have had a 10% target. What it boils down to is they either did not fathom the clusterf*** it became or they did not care. I am leaning toward the "they did not care" scenario.

They are not going to have to raise the price........

The market is going to correct on it's own and people will refuse to pay their prices while getting no perks......
There is perks. Deluxe guests get Extended Evening Hours. When it gets to the point that resorts aren't filling they will give discounts like they always do.

I disagree. They looked at how MaxPass was working at DL. Over there not everyone bought it. Disney figured it would be the same at WDW. Instead it backfired.

This seems like the best idea. Granted I think the pricing is too low still. They don’t have the inventory to make it a “must” for your trip. 3 of the Parks are too under built for that.

I agree but they also need to increase the price. It shouldn’t be something most people use.
so they were worried about charging for a prior free service in FP so they renamed made it worse and now you want to price people out.... yea that will be some PR campaign to wiggle around but they will again get away with it most likely... go back to FP+ charge for it BUT while doing so you need to expand these parks and justify the costs and add capacity everywhere!

how is spending ALL that extra money per night and getting 4 hours extra 2 at Mk & 2 at EC really considered a "perk"? dont get me wrong yea its nice added 2 hours but far from a perk and if you have younger kids the hours are in theory somewhat useless

We are saving and booked Beach Club for next year. We find the walk to 2 parks to be (almost ;) ) priceless. We would have stayed there without the extra hours, but now having those extra hours at MK and Epcot is nice and a perk for us.

Now resorts used to have a lot more perks and I miss them. Which they should use Genie + as a perk in some way (bringing it back to topic!)

That's the problem the parks will never have enough capacity in our lifetime with how slow they like to build things. Universal is going to have a new park done and opened in the same amount to time it took to build Tron.

Some people consider it a perk. What people are showing right now is perks aren't needed. They are filling the resorts with out them. When that changes they will offer discounts to entice people back.

I agree, EEH is a significant deluxe resort perk. You're basically guaranteed a 90s era EMH for both MK and EPCOT on your trip. It's really a wonderful experience. IMHO, I think this is just the beginning of resort class based perks.

It's definitely a perk - just might not be valuable to you or to many, but it is a perk, and one aimed at getting people to stay deluxe during the week

Some people never used DME, doesn't mean it wasn't an included perk.
